Chapter 50 by Almax Almax

What's the play?

Delilah's mean and you're right by Cameron -- help him out!

You lift up your shooting arm, levelled and pointed at the monster's head.

"Back up, Cameron!" You call out. "I'm gonna shoot it!"

Cameron nods, and pushes one more of its scything attacks off of the blunt side of his shield before jumping back. He does this with extra ****, to put the monster off balance, since he doesn't need to worry about doing more punches or blocks after -- the monster's scything arm is pushed out wide and it takes a second to centre its mass again, as Cameron leaps back a short distance up the gravel road. A very short distance, because he is wearing partial plate metal armour. But it's enough!

Aiming more carefully with each shot than you did when the monsters were rushing up to you to begin with, you pull back the hammer and fire off all five of your shots. They crack and land in parts of the monster's chitin, but don't do anything impressive until your third shot which finds itself on the simulated monster's unarmoured head.

BANG! chk BANG! chk BANG!

The impact bullet only goes a small way in, that same orange liquid leaking out from the point it hit, but it completely stuns the monster as it freezes up. Another shot which lands on the monster's flank knocks it over to the ground, where it stays motionless and completely still. To be safe, after about five seconds of analysis and holding your gun out, you fire your last shot as well. It misses.

"Is that two for you, then?" Cameron asks.

It is! You didn't even realise that -- that's so awesome! You're in the right place for sure -- you definitely belong at a Warrior University. You load five more impact bullets into your pepperbox pistol, just in case. You don't want to be caught without any way to defend yourself, because a 2.00 K/D is less cool if it ends there.

Hey, speaking of which, you actually might be able to up it -- Delilah's still fighting her monster on the bridge, and it looks like not a lot of progress has been made by either side still. At the moment, the battle looks like it'll come down to whoever lands the first proper hit.

If you want, and don't feel like it'd be intrusive, you could maybe help her out? You class can't win until all three monsters are beaten, after all.

She might stop being mean to you if you helped her out here. Maybe. She does look pretty frustrated.
