Day 3: The Fish's Net

Fishnet

“We’re taking in water!”
“We’re sinking! We be headin’ for the briney deep!”
“It’s every man for themselves!”

While the **** fought the more **** for the life boats, the most **** began flinging themselves over board. When they saw they were plummeting towards the sharkfins circling the shipwreck, it was too late. The fins rose from under the surface, revealing they were not in fact sharks, but shark girls.
The voluptuous vixens licked their lips, the smile on their lips cracking into large grins of jagged teeth as their new husbands were falling right into their laps.

The ship tipped more as it kept taking in water. More men slipped towards the waiting arms of the mersharks.
So radical was the tilt by then that the life boats rested on the deck tilted away from the edge. They could no longer lower them down. They were trapped, until the ship sank to the very bottom.
Nothing could delight the shark girls more than to swim away with their own prince charming cradled in their arms. Once caught, there was no escape. The sleek arms of the shark girls might as well be bands of iron to the captives, keeping their prizes fixed to the firm yet soft bodies of the natural predators in spite of their most strugggle.
As the deck sank deeper, the shark ladies could reach out further and snatch up more of their prey, until only the top of the mast stuck out.

The last guy onboard had climbed from the crow’s nest up to the flag at the very top, but couldn’t climb higher than that. He appeared like a floating buoy in the calm water glistening in the light of the full moon. A stocky shark girl popped up with a feral grin, admiring him from beyond the wild green hair covering her face. He tried to kick his legs up, imagining himself performing some kind of acrobatic stunt clearly beyond him that could spare his legs the onslaught of his pursuer. Yet she casually grabbed him by the ankle.
“Get in here, you love-bub! Ehehehehe!”
And with a scream, the sailor was dragged right into the open blue.

“Wait! Huff… Hang on there! I’m coming!”
Not too far away, another mershark zoomed in. This one was short, with a lean waifish figure. Round goggles were strapped around her head, and she kept her black hair in a short wild ponytail behind her. She had tried to keep up with her more athletic and shapely sisters, but alas. When she arrived, all that remained was a shipwreck at the bottom of the sea.
Her shoulders slumped, she floated in place. Despondent and exasperated. The stocky green haired shark girl swam past her with her captured man under one arm, as he had been afforded a magic bubble to live with her under the sea.
“Sorry, Tess.” The mershark said, with a smile that didn’t look sorry at all, “But hey, there's plenty o' fish in the sea, auhahaha!”

Tess groaned, watching her sister swim back with her prize.
The same story had played out for every shipwreck. The young shark girls of the sea would race there to get their clawed hands on a strapping young sailor man who would otherwise fall to their moist untimely deaths, only to be rescued by a beautiful young, albeit predatory, mermaid. A mershark as the case may be.
But no matter what Tess would always end up last in place. By that time, all the cute boys had already been picked off.
What was she supposed to do though? She was born with such a lithe figure and small size. How could she possibly compete with all the beautiful buff babes of the baby blue?
Unless…

She had an idea. If she couldn’t compete with her sisters with brawn, then maybe she could do so with brains.
She dove into the shipwreck to scavenge it. Not for men. Clearly it had been scraped clean in that regard. She was looking for tools.
Aha. She grabbed a fishing net that was left there. And some rope. Next she needed some bait… And what did she find if not a treasure chest? The treasure, in this case, turned out to be some spare clothes that had been ruined by the sea water. Those she dumped on deck. What mattered was the promise of treasure. The allure of what could be there. No man could resist that. She brought all of that back to her cave, then fashioned her loot together into her very own man trap.

Tess couldn’t contain her giggles. She swam with her new device close to the shore during ebb. The water rose during flood, carrying the net with the treasure chest all the way to the beach. When the flood retreated during ebb again, the net with the treasure chest remained. Waiting for the adorable male who would get snagged up.
There she hovered in place. Underneath the ocean, with the rope that led to the fishnet sturdily in her hand. She was getting all giddy. Her plan had just entered the worst phase, yet the one most crucial to success. Waiting.
Doing nothing, but hoping and looking through the surface of the waters until her prey arrived…

Such an excellent day for surfing, was what Max thought as he wandered the beach. The sun was just about dipping below the horizon. Not a cloud in the sky. And the waves were foaming as they crawled up the sand.
Best of all, he had it all for himself. Just him and the fishies.
That’s when he noticed something. Something sticking up from the sand. Not just anything… A treasure chest.
“Oh, boy!” He stabbed his surf board into the sand, sneaking up on his treasure as he rubbed his palms together.
Just as he was about to grab it, the treasure chest moved away. Towards the ocean. Max was surprised, but wasn’t going to let it slip away that easy. He ran up to it, but it slipped away before he could bend over and grab it. He had enough. He lunged at the treasure chest, wrestling with it until he had it subdued. That’s when he realized he had been tangled up in a fishnet.
He felt himself being dragged forward, into the ocean. Writhe and thrash as much as he might, it didn’t help one bit. He clutched the sand, but it slipped between his fingers, creating tiny furrows in their wake.
In the end, in spite of his best efforts, he sank down below.

“Why, hey there, handsome~!” A giggle was heard. The one who held the rope to the net swayed her hips, holding her clutched hands against her chest as she fawned over her catch, “You come here often?”
“Mmphhmmm!”
“Ah, chucks!” The shark girl gasped, “Oh gosh… I-I’m brimming with emotions seeing you like this! I’ve always dreamed of this moment, but now… When we’re here…. Oh, gosh… I don’t even know what to do!”
“Mpphphmmmm…!”
“I know. I know. I’m just like a dog chasing a stagecoach. Won’t know what to do with it once she catch it. I’m just so… Oohhhhh… It’s just so much for me that I can’t…”
“MMMMPPHMMM!” At that point his face was turning blue.
“Oh? What’s wrong… Oh! Landlubbers need air? Isn’t that right?”
He nodded frantically.

“Oh shoot! Why didn’t you say so?”
She grabbed his head and pulled him in for a kiss. When she pulled her head back, the bubble between them grew to envelop his head.
“There! Much better… No?”
“Ah… Yeah. Nothing like some fresh air. So what’s the deal, dudette?”
“Well… I caught you. I’m Tess, and I caught you. And now you’re mine, and you’re going to be my husband. That’s… Fine, isn’t it?”
He looked her up and down. Not how he’d imagine the hottest of hotties. Didn’t quite pull off that hourglass figure. But damn if she didn’t look fine regardless.
“Yeah, that’s cool. But hey, next time why not just try asking me out for a milkshake?”
“Huh…?” Tess tapped her chin, “I guess I didn’t think of that. A lot of the time, humans don’t hang around the ocean much.”
“Well, if I had known what’s there, then I’d have stuck to the sea even more than I’d already do! I’m Max by the way!”
“Nice to see you Max. Now come along! I need to show you off to my sisters!”

She dragged him along by the net, cackling to herself like a school girl.
“Sounds good. But Tess, you mind getting me out of this net? I can swim for myself?”
“I’m going to say… No. I like you this way.”

And so she floated all the way back to the other shark girls to show him off.

The End!
