David's nightmare

You still existed.

There was no sound to be heard, no air to be breathed, no light to be seen. You could only feel that you were still there, because your tiny speck of a soul marked her perfect being, like a mole on a beautiful skin.

Ishtar.

You didn't see her, and yet you felt her everywhere. She was literally your entire world, this dimension or state of existence or whatever that was would not exist without her. You had no idea whether she just took power from it, or she was it.

You felt bored. Lonely. You knew that she tried to make you go to sleep when she pushed you here. Your innate talent somehow attaching itself to your consciousness and blocking any attempt from her defenses to stop you from watching. And you did watch. You became more or less unwilling witness to her madness. But you did have some control over what you've seen.

You felt flashes, yes, flashes. The shattered images of her past, directly being displayed in your mind. Her memories, all crumbled and becoming piecing themselves together. You saw her during the Fourth Crusade where she mislead the crusaders to conquer and burn the city of Constantinople instead of going to Jerusalem as originally intended. You've seen massive orgies in Rome during Caligula's times and her plunging this emperor into deepest circles of madness. You witnessed how she dealt with Alexander, giving him everything he wanted at first only to come and collect the price when time was due. You saw her help in rise of Greek culture over the years and then throwing them into millenia of decadence that made them stagnate for almost forever. She was basically everywhere. From plotting against Britannia during Viking invasion times, to attending the funeral of Charlemagne in Aachen, she kept rallying Germanic tribes to resist the Romans, she threw thousands of Persians lives in **** at Thermopylae, she was throttling the beginnings of Christianity and started to use it when it was unstoppable. She was being summoned and recommended by thousands of knights, lords, kings and queens, even popes. She did all they wanted her to do while supplying her own agenda.

With all these memories you felt like you were going mad. Like you were slowly becoming less of yourself and more of her. Like she was sucking your consiousness inside and erasing your mind. You started to feel ****, wanted to find anything, to focus yourself onto something instead of getting swarmed with her past.

You noticed a tiny image, a literal needle in a haystack of other memories. It showed a fragment her gorgeous face, just a lot younger. You decided to follow. There were more images like that and when you were finding them, you were piecing it together. Slowly it became a complete picture, and then a memory buried so deep, you could only feel a deep echo of it. She clearly wanted to forget it, leave that forever. But even an echo was enough for you.

It showed a beautiful young woman locked forever in her castle to become a trophy wife for some ancient, forgotten king. She was crying, and trying to not shake. Something happened to her. You heard voices talking in an unknown language. You saw **** and an act so despicable, it would make your blood boil, if you had any in that moment.

You saw her vowing the vengeance and drawing symbols in her blood.

You saw a creature arising, mocking her, laughing, but finally agreeing to a pact.

You saw her transformation, and then you realized that she was no devil originally. She was a native to your world.

The creature suddenly broke eye contact with her and looked directly at you. You felt like every fiber of your spirit is being inspected, your consciousness invaded by foreign thoughts.

You felt it. A voice that marked your soul.

CUTE.

And then you could see with your own eyes again.
