Chapter 4 by wicker wicker

Where does it end up?

Dave, 28 year old janitor

Dave Gorman was 28 years old and a janitor at a liberal arts college. It was big enough for a basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and soccer teams, but not football. Dave was single, 5'5 with dark brown hair and green eyes. He had several acne scars on his face. He lived a solitary life in a small studio apartment.

Today he was cleaning up in the old library building. The school had just built a new library, and he was in the basement of the old building, boxing up some old magazines and newspapers. As he did, he came across a loose tile in the floor. He lifted it and found a hole, and inside the hole was a ebony box. He took out the box and opened it. Inside was a silver necklace with a circle made out of ebony. It was not very masculine. He sighed and pocketed it. He saw a piece of parchment paper in the box. HE unfolded it and read:

The Necklace of Naught granteth to the wearer the ability to make thyself unseen to all, pass through solid objects, and make unseen any solid object. Use it well.

"Fuck right," said Dave. He put on the necklace. "Unseen," he muttered to himself, just repeating the word he saw on the parchment. He felt a tingle run throughout his body. He looked at his hand, and could not see it. He gasped. He reached his left hand over and took his right hand. He could feel his right hand in his left. "Oh...my...fucking...god!" he said. "I'm fucking invisible!"

Dave ran up the stairs of the basement, through the empty building and outside. It was late afternoon, and there were only a few students crossing the quad. He walked up to a boy and stood in front of him as the boy walked. If Dave had not stepped aside, the boy would have walked right into him. Dave kicked the boy in the butt.

The boy spun around. "What the hell?" he muttered. He looked around and saw nothing. He looked at the ground, looking for a soccer ball or football, but saw nothing. With an annoyed grunt, the boy walked off.

Dave smiled a smile no one could see. He wondered where to go: girl's soccer practice, cheerleader practice, a dorm room, a sorority, or somewhere else.

where to?
