What happens next?
Daddy Daughter Drive
“Hey, I don’t know if I say this enough, but thanks for being such a good Dad to me.” Stella tells you all of a sudden.
You and Stella are currently in your car, dressed up for your date. She weirdly asked you if there was a back alley at the place you’re taking her as a way to know what outfit she was going to wear, but you took it in stride. You dressed up too, wearing a black tailored suit you only wear on special occasions. Stella’s wearing a tight black dress that hugs her body shape quite well, and has the low neckline she seems to like a lot.
She and Cassie loved the flowers you bought for them, and Maddy commented on how sweet you were to your girlfriends. You and Stella left the house after Tanya got back from the gym after work. Before you left, and while Maddy went back to her grandparents’ apartment after she got a call from her parents; you informed your girlfriends about the situation with Maddy, and her grandfather’s wishes while Maddy was staying over at your apartment. Cassie and Tanya understood, and were happy to look after Maddy while you and Stella had your date.
“What made you say that all of a sudden?” you ask. “Come on, after hearing how Maddy’s dad treats her and her sisters, I’m just being appreciative.” Stella tells you.
“If that’s the case, then I appreciate the gratitude, baby. You haven’t done anything to make me regret how I raised you.” you say sincerely, making her hold your hand while you drive. “Yet.” you add jokingly, making her let go of your hand immediately and playfully punch you in the arm.
“Jerk.” Stella says jokingly, before holding your hand again. “I’m glad you don’t consider me falling in love with you as something you regret.” Stella says seriously.
“Of course I don’t regret that, baby. I know I didn’t initially react positively to hear you admit it, but I think I’ve passed the point where I can still deny my attraction to you too.” you say with a chuckle, making Stella smirk too, being reminded of all the sexual stuff you’ve done together already.
“So you’re not weirded out by our relationship anymore?” Stella asks you.
“I still am... kind of. Not gonna lie, I find it funny how other people correctly react to me having multiple girlfriends as something weird, but in the same sentence that they find out I have multiple girlfriends and that one of them is my daughter, they don’t bat an eye.” you tell her with a laugh.
“I know about Becca finding you ‘interesting’, but that’s about it. Who else reacted weirdly to you having multiple girlfriends?” she asks curiously.
“Becca’s one, yeah. Chad earlier this morning. Celeste when she first found out. That sales lady at the make-up store where I bought Tanya’s make-up. I think the waitress at Viv’s kinda reacted weirdly too.” you list the ones that you know of.
“Oh god, don’t remind me about that waitress.” Stella reacts, making you laugh.
“In any case, all these people finding it weird that I’m dating multiple women, but don’t find it weird that I’m dating my daughter kinda got me more comfortable with the idea.” you admit.
“Maybe you just haven’t tried hard enough to see how weirded out they might actually be. Maybe next time you introduce me it should be like ‘This is my daughter. We are fucking. You know, hardcore ****. Not even step-daddy **** you see on the internet, but the—” she started joking, but you cut her off.
“I get it Stella. No need to describe any further.” you tell her.
“So you are still kinda weirded out about it. When I was saying it, the only reaction I could imagine anyone would have was ‘Yeah. So?’” Stella says with a laugh.
“You know what, yeah! So what if I’m dating my daughter? Nobody else seems to mind. Why should I? So, yeah, if you’re sick in the head; then that means I’m sick in the head too.” you tell her.
“Folie à deux.” Stella reacts to your statement.
“Oh god, if you don’t want to hear about the waitress, I don’t want to hear anything French any time soon.” you tell her.
“What, why?” Stella asks you.
“I think Chad thinks he’s being French when he’s getting cucked because he confuses it with voyeurism, and voyeurism is a French word, and therefore being a voyeur makes you French. At least I think that’s what he’s getting at. Chad’s mind is an enigma to me.” You tell her, a tone of frustration in your voice as you’re reminded of the mental exhaustion you felt earlier just by talking to him. Stella seems to find it funny and is laughing hard at your story.
“You didn’t tell us that earlier! That’s fucking hilarious. I mean, I know he confuses it with voyeurism, but to automatically be French because of it!?” Stella reacts, still laughing.
“You remember that restaurant that Google suggested we go to because it was fancy?” you ask her.
“Yeah. L'endroit Trop Cher, right?” Stella replies, waiting for the punchline.
“He pronounces it Lendraught Top Chair.” you say with a laugh, and Stella laughs along with you. Stella wipes tears in her eyes from laughing so hard, and takes a deep breath to stop herself from giggling.
“Alright, that’s enough. We’ve been mean enough to Chad behind his back. He’s probably bitten his tongue off at this point.” Stella tells you, and you take a deep breath as well in order to stop giggling. “Besides, if his concern for Brooke was genuine, then he’s a good guy in my book.” Stella adds, and you nod to show you agree.
“Yeah, Chad’s not a bad guy. He’s just exhausting to talk to.” you tell her, making her laugh again.
“Trust me, I know. There’s a reason Cassie just straight up made out with you than try to make him stop hitting on her.” Stella jokes back, making you laugh. “Okay, last dig on Chad, I promise.” Stella declares. “Okay, new topic. What do you think of Maddy?” Stella asks you.
“No. Uh-uh. I’m not falling for that trap. Nope. The only girl I want to think about tonight is my loving girlfriend sitting right next to me.” you answer her.
“You should choose your words more carefully, Dad. The only way I could interpret that is you are thinking about her, just not right now.” Stella teases you, and you look guilty for a second, but immediately recover yourself.
“Think what you want, but I’m not talking. You look great in that dress, by the way.” you say, trying to change topics.
“Thanks, you look good yourself. I bet we’re going somewhere fancy if you’re wearing your suit.” she replies. You have a relieved smile on your face. You can’t believe that worked.
“Something like that. You’ll see.” you tease her.
“It looks like we’re going near the beach based on where we’re heading. Interesting.” Stella observes.
“You would be correct.” you reply, trying to get this topic going.
“A fancy place near the beach? I wonder who told you about this one. Viv mayhaps?” Stella ponders, making you chuckle that your date idea just might work.
“If you think hard about it, you’ll figure it out.” you tease her again.
“I’d rather think about how high Maddy’s scores are if you’re not willing to talk about it.” she blindsides you. “You wouldn’t be so panicky if you knew she was neutral about you… which she obviously isn’t.” Stella adds teasingly.
“Do you really want to talk about this now, baby?” you ask her, not wanting to ruin her excitement for your date.
“About a potential new girlfriend for you? Have I ever not been interested in talking about that?” Stella jokes.
“She’s not a potential new girlfriend, baby. Mr. O’Brien, as much as he wants Maddy to explore her newfound freedom from her father, also warned me to not fookin’ dare.” you admit to her, which gets an amused smile from her at your attempt at copying Mr. O’Brien’s threat.
“Oh~, right. That situation doesn’t sound familiar at all. Like you weren’t panicky about Cassie being in-love with you. Like you weren’t panicky about exploring your feelings for Tanya when you were already with Cassie. Like you weren’t panicky with me when you found out I was attracted to you in that way. Doesn’t sound like a potential girlfriend at all.” Stella replies sarcastically, but with a lighthearted tone.
“Yeah, well, if you notice, all those relationships were going to affect each other if I did something stupid; so, of course I was panicky. I didn’t want to potentially lose any of you. There’s a reason why I’m not panicky about Brooke or Viv. They’re adults who are free to choose their partner. Maddy, even if she is an adult, is still very much under her father’s authority. I don’t want to put her, or any of you girls, in a tough spot by pursuing her.” you tell Stella.
“I’m sure there’s something in your magical app that can help with that, right? I mean, if it can change people’s perception about **** or polyamory, I’m sure there’s something in there that can change one or two people’s perception that can be applicable to Maddy.” Stella points out.
She’s probably right too. You just haven’t explored the app as much to know the extent of its power yet. You’re not sure you want to either. If the Cheater trait can be as invasive to someone’s way of thinking as it is for the price it was offered, the app probably has an answer for everything if you really wanted someone badly enough. The question is…
“There’s no reason for you to keep it in your pants, Dad. Magic’s on your side. Go all out.” Stella says, answering the question you just had in your head. Before you could ponder on that thought any further, you arrive at your destination, making Stella react in disbelief.
“You’re taking me here!? Are you fucking joking!?”
