Cresto Lays

On the arm of Captain Cartier, I get my first look at the ultra chic Cresto Lays. To say it took my breath away was like saying the sun rises in the east, it was truly gorgeous, everywhere was a light hue of gold and royal blue. it was the kind of place where you are shown to your dining room by a concierge before being shown to your seat by another.

We we lucky, our table was directly in front of the raised platform that held the mayor's table. Looking around I couldn't believe the number of people the room held, local celebrities, politicians and business people, and to think someone unimportant like myself was asked by the mayor to attend.

Captain Cartier was so comfortable in this atmosphere, like this was an everyday occurrence for him, while I was so nervous that I almost missed my chair seat sitting down. "Carly relax, you're here by invitation of the mayor himself!" pausing as our server comes to take our drink order his a scotch on the rocks, mine a glass of mineral water with a twist of lemon. As the server leaves us "Sure it would take our combined salary to eat one meal here on a good day, but this one is being paid for by the city, so enjoy it!"

Looking around I can't help but notice an oriental woman seem very interested in me, Cartier notices it to. "Seems you got an admirer! that's Zhenzhen Quangh, the mayor's personal assistant, a notorious hard case when it comes to trying to get in to see his honor." Wonder why she so interested in me then, i'm just a police officer who wants to make a difference. She coming over, her eyes locked on mine, I don't know why but I'm getting a bad sensation in the pit of my stomach.

"Why Captain Cartier, how good to see you again!" turning to me and is this lovely young lady,one of your grand daughters?"

Laughing "Oh no she a fellow officer! Miss Zhenzhen Quangh meet Officer Carly Graspper!' then the reverse introduction as I stand to shake hands with her. "She the newest addition to his honor's Peodphile Squad, and making one hell of an impact if I may say so!" Quangh eyes widen looking me up and down

"So this is the newbie, I've been hearing so much about from Thomas!" it was like her eyes were devouring me as we shook hands. For some reason I felt dirty from making her acquaintance, I knew if asked about it couldn't explain it, but for some reason my instincts were trying to warn me about something.
