Cratering

Cherchiel luckily was already in front and quickly slipped on the boar mask as Goma blew the hunting horn. Yulia hit Boarchiel with an Energize and hit the Golem with an undermine. The Golem swung, but Boarchiel managed to catch it on her shield and with the golem's decreased strength and Boarchiel's own increased strength she was able to take the hit without getting knocked off balance on the treacherous terrain. She strikes back, stabbing her spear into what amounts to the Golem's armpit and the spear does indeed manage to damage the Golem, almost completely severing it's arm from it's body. Yulia tosses an icicle at The Golem's head which does indeed deal damage, but when Yulia tries to fire another one she coughs and drops to her knees. Boarchiel turns in response to this and gets hit by the Golem. The punch hits her in the chest and lifts her off the ground and into the air. She lands off the stairs and begins to slide, but Goma manages to move and catch her, just barely managing to hold onto the steep stairs and Boarchiel. Boarchiel seems to have been quite injured by the blow and doesn't seem to be able to do much, but hold on. Goma's strength isn't nearly enough to hold Boarchiel up and they start slipping.

Yulia gets back to her feet, the collapse being the result of trying to use too much magic. She looks up and finds the Golem standing over her. It raises a club like hand and Yulia swallows as she stares up at her imminent ****. Until behind the Golem, Goma casts heal on Boarchiel just before she has to let go to prevent both of them being pulled off the stairs. Boarchiel slides down the crater, but catches herself on a stalagmite and jumps back to the stairs, landing, catching her balance and rushing back up the stairs, just in time to stab her spear through the Golem's back with a squeal of rage.

The Golem shudders as the spear bursts through it's rocky body and then it proceeds to fall to pieces. The pieces tumbling down the crater and causing a loud crash as they land at the bottom.

Boarchiel is panting hard and pulls the mask off, before dropping to her knees and Yulia carefully rushes over and hugs her. Cherchiel hugs back and then glances down the crater after the Golem, "you okay?" she asks and Yulia nods. Taking a moment to collect themselves the three women continue down the steps and eventually reach the bottom. The bottom of the Crater holds in the center a massive slab of stone that seems to be the origin of the crater itself, words are written on it, but it's a language none of the three can read.

"I wonder if anyone knows what it says?" Yulia says and is startled as Li suddenly answers from beside them,

"Nope. Many Dwarf and Drow scholars have tried to translate it, but none have succeeded. The language is completely unknown to the Deep and it doesn't seem to be known to the... Mind Eaters either," they explain and Yulia stares at them.

"How did you... get down here so fast?" she asks confused and Li blinks.

"I took the stairs?" they respond seemingly confused by the question. "Anyway the monolith is just one part of the object that smashed into Crater Under," Li explains before pointing to a number of tunnel sized holes around the base of the crater, "the monolith was seemingly only the core of the object as many other pieces broke off on impact and buried themselves deep into the walls of the Crater, the dangers of this area mean that normal mining operations are restricted, but special explorer dwarves were given permission to perform mining around here to try and dig up the buried pieces. So, far only two have been found," Li continues before pointing to two of the tunnels, "Coldrock down that one and Illustone down the other. They were named by their finders, Coldrock's name is... self explanatory, it's a normal seeming rock, except it gives off an incredibly cold aura, Illustone is a bit more... strange. It's finder, a Dwarf Explorer named Argi, found that Illustone when placed against a surface would leave a trail, the colour of the trail seemed to change depending on the users intent and even could leave mixed colour trails. Argi used a piece of Illustone to draw beautiful paintings until her ****," Li explains.

"Any chance we could check out these tunnels?" Yulia asks and Li hesitates.

"I'm not really supposed to let anyone without special authority go into the tunnels, but no one is supposed to stop the Chosen... so... I guess?" they decide after a bit.

Yulia and the group head into the Cold Rock tunnel and eventually arrive at the end of the tunnel and find a wall, the wall looks like it's made out of ice, smaller pieces of ice litter the floor and as they move closer a wave of freezing cold hits them that makes their teeth chatter, "Okay... how do we get some without freezing to ****?" Cherchiel asks.
