Chapter 9 by Jame Z Jame Z

What’s Jess got up her sleeve?

Costume Fun

“There’s a costume cafe downtown and they’re hiring. Even with the old Jessica trampling my reputation I should be able to get hired there.” Jess exclaimed.

“A costume cafe? I didn’t know we had something like nearby.”

“I surprised to. I stumbled across it a few weeks ago, I didn’t think it was your thing then so I didn’t bring it up. What do you think, though, should I go for it?”

“Oh, you absolutely should! And, if you get hired I’m gonna want to see some pictures of you whatever they have you wear, maybe more if you can get away with it.”

After placing an application it didn’t take long for Jess to get an interview scheduled with the cafe, surprisingly just a single day. Which made for a good time to get completely used to her new body.

She arrived at the interview wearing a relatively modest blue dress, white tights, and black 4” heels. Her long black hair was done up in a ponytail which she’d brushed over her shoulder.

The manager on shift looked over Jess’s resume, she was dressed up in a costume like the rest of the staff. She wore a hyper sexualized witch costume, making it difficult for Jess to focus on the interview. Despite her state of dress, however, the manager carried herself in a very professional manner.

“Your resume seems decent enough, Jessica. However, we reached out to your previous place of employment, and they didn’t have a good opinion on your work ethic.”

“Y-yes. I’ll readily admit I wasn’t the best employee. But, I’m determined to turn another leaf. I’m not going to be the same slacker I was.”

The manager tapped a pen against her resume, “I’ll be honest, we wouldn’t even be doing this interview if we weren’t in pretty **** need of new employees. And as you might imagine, we don’t get a lot of applications. I’m willing to give you a chance, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on you. I see you slacking off even a little bit and you’re gone, understand?”

“Yes, ma’am. I promise you won’t regret it.”

“I better not. So, you’ll start next week and we’ll need you to send over your measurements before then so we can prepare some costumes for you. We’ll send an employee handbook to your email, read it before you’re first shift. Your schedule will be attached there as well.”

“Got it. Thank you, ma’am.” Jess said as she got up and exited the cafe.

“Damnit, the old Jessica really made things tough for me. Good thing that manager was willingly to give me a shot.” Jess vented as she headed back to the apartment, “Now that I’ve got something, though. I should plan a date for me and Anna, that’s what this was for after all.”

Jess’s date idea
