"Do we have the materials needed?" Lri asks.

"Gigas should have had a core, we'll have to go get his core and the plates from the fight and then we can make the upgrade," Maple answers.

"So, you're both going to go and leave Yulia behind with me? Or is one of you going to stay here and the other go on their own? Or are you all going to go, carrying an injured Yulia with you?" Dreg offers and Maple narrows her eyes.

"I'll go, Lri you stay here with Yulia and make sure he doesn't do anything to her," she says.

"Shouldn't I go?" Lri asks and Maple hesitates.

"I need to be there to run the machine and make the upgrade," she counters.

"Right..." Lri agrees, "be quick and avoid fighting anything," she says.

Maple nods and just in case takes the veil and cloak before leaving. Lri pats Yulia's head as Yulia still occasionally coughing has begun sweating while also still shivering.

Maple leaves the train and enters the engineering bay, quickly heading to strip the remains of the predators and Gigas, she finishes and then hears a voice, "Maple..." the voice says, a feminine voice and Maple freezes and then looks up as the false ceiling changes to show Maple in her current position. Maple glances around and eventually spots an active camera watching her.

"The Directive has found you Maple," the voice speaks and the sound of footsteps makes her turn to see more Predators have arrived blocking the path back to the terminal.

"But... I have a proposition for you... You can't fight me, not all by yourself, we know that," the voice continues, presumably Sally or the Directive or both. One of the predators approaches, raising it's arms as if to gesture that it means no harm. Maple keeps her gun trained on it.

"Don't have your little robot come any closer, you can talk without being near me," Maple responds and tries to back away a bit from the predator, moving as subtly as she can towards her workshop.

"My my so paranoid... Fine... You and I both know we don't want intruders in our fair city, you and Del built me to keep them out, so... Here's my offer. I will let the chosen and her companions leave, I will even return her captured companions, on the condition that you stay and they leave without causing any more problems," the voice offers and Maple hesitates considering the option.

"Are you... scared of them?" she asks after a bit.

"Of course not, but with you siding with them and things escalating as they are... I'm worried. You my dear creator will be hurt. I don't want that," the voice responds.

"What? You don't want me hurt?! I don't buy that for a second! You imprisoned me and Del and the rest of our people!" Maple responds angrily.

"Imprisoned yes... In a stasis gel that will keep them invincible and immortal. Beyond harm. I'm doing what you created me for! I am protecting our people! From everything! Themselves, each other, time and ****!" the voice says it's voice taking on a manic tone for a moment.

"If you don't want to take the deal... I can always just have my predators take you by ****, I'll try not to hurt you more than is necessary of course," the voice says and then the predator lunges forward suddenly and Maple yelps and tries to fire, but the predator is faster and knocks the gun aside the blast hitting nothing and Maple backs away startled and trips landing on her ass, the predator standing over her.

"I'll even sweeten the deal..." the voice says and the Predator holds out a cure potion just out of Maple's grasp, "so what will it be, creator?"

Back at the train Dreg has started humming as Lri watches Yulia anxiously. Yulia is whimpering in between coughing fits some of which bring up small amounts of blood.

"Times running out... The deal is still on the table," Dreg offers, pausing his humming for a bit before continuing.
