Figuring that there was no point in fighting them, given that I had actually volunteered for this, I went to the door and stuck my fists through the open slot.
It sounded like two men were on the other side as one man slid a piece of rebar between my arms and the other slid handcuffs around my wrists, locking them outside the door, with no way for me to withdraw them past the metal bar.
Locked to the door, they slowly opened it and a man walked in. He was a pretty typical Mexican, with dark, weathered skin and beady black eyes.
The man reached around my legs and shackled them as well, ensuring that I couldn't take anything but short steps.
"Miguel, tira de la barra," he said to the man outside. "We go have you 'assessed'," he said to me.
