Completing The Set

It’s an easy choice for which dungeon to run through next. Completing Skylar’s armour set so she can unlock whatever the rest of those enchantments are, is the first priority. That being the case, we do another run of the demons dungeon before Paige gets here.

Now knowing what to expect and with the added bonus of both Skylar and I wearing armour, as well as Ivy’s new plant based powers, we tear through the demon horde a bit easier than before. Skylar and Ivy hold out much better on their own this time, largely thanks to Ivy’s increased offensive power and the umbramancer’s new armour.

Just the same as last time, we keep a single possessed demon alive and slowly kite it around the large open area while we regenerate resources. We have to be careful that we don’t waste too much time, but we’re still able to regenerate most of our mana with full health bars in the time we give it. Killing the last enemy, we prepare ourselves for the boss.

My girlfriends are much readier for the Cyberdemon this time around, and we know our strategy a little better from the experience. We manage to whittle down it’s health with minimal damage in the first phase, but Ivy gets caught up in the rock wall during the second phase. Nobody got hit last time so it comes as a bit of a shock when Ivy’s health bar drops by two thirds.

We protect the nature spirit for a minute or so while she regenerates health at a rapid pace, until she feels that she can rejoin the fight. With Ivy’s help once more, we’re able to glory kill the boss for the second time today. Mia rips the cylinder out of its chest this time, remarking that it feels super weird to do so.

Gathering up the loot and exiting the dungeon, I give Skylar a cuddle. “You’re doing so well honey. We’re so proud of you.” I tell her. She sighs tiredly. “I know. It feels like Paige is doing better than me in these dungeons though.” She replies, very out of breath. “You’re standing on your own power though. Paige is relying much more heavily on us.” I remind her.

She sighs again. “Yeah I know. It’s still a bit disheartening.” The umbramancer says. I kiss her on the forehead. “We’re going to try to find a solution, okay? We’ll get there.” I reassure her. “What if we don’t? What if this it as far as I can go?” Skylar asks. “You’re still our lovely Skylar. We all love you no matter what. Even if you can’t get any more powerful, we’ll do our best to make you happy.”

She smiles at me. “I love you Gemma.” I kiss her softly on the lips. “I love you too Skylar.” We get inside and I repair my armour before switching to my pajamas. Mia and Skylar strip off their armour so I can repair it before we go out to our next dungeon. I wait for them to be ready before we go through the loot we got.

We got a few extra armour pieces that we don’t need, but the important thing is that we got both the gauntlets and the boots. I ignore the other loot for the moment and give the remaining pieces of the set to Skylar to try on. As expected, they resize to fit perfectly. I observe the armour and get a few popups.

“Those are pretty hefty bonuses.” I comment, closing the last window. “20% bonus damage, 20% resistance against light and shadow damage, and a 20% bonus to your spellpower stat. I guess the last one is supposed to increase your magical capabilities in general.” I speculate. Skylar nods in satisfaction. “Definitely worth it then. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up a bit better.” She says, and I smile at her.

“Paige says she’ll be here in half an hour!” Mia declares, reading a text on her phone. “What should we do until then?” “Relax.” I reply, switching to my pajamas and listing the other loot items on the auction. Mia nods once, takes off her armour rapidly and flops down on the couch face first, sighing with relief. Skylar chuckles and follow suit.

Ivy and I are already locked in a tight cuddle, and I break it for just a few seconds to turn on the tv and put on a random show. We spend the time before Paige arrives relaxing and cuddling with each other. At one point, Sol pads her little feet up to the foot of the couch, sniffing and observing us curiously.

Ivy moves to pat her but Sol backs away. The nature spirit takes the hint and backs off, letting the orange cat sniff and stare as much as she wants, without interfering. The kitten seems satisfied with the results of her observations and loses interest after a few minutes, wandering back to play with Luna. At that moment, Mia gets a text from Paige.

“She’s here! Go pick her up hun, I can’t be bothered moving.” Mia says to me and I laugh. “You think I can be bothered myself?” I reply. “Nope, but you’d never leave a friend out there, especially not a pretty girl like her.” The aeromancer teases and I sigh. “I hate you.” I joke, untangling myself from Ivy’s arms.

Ivy kisses me on the cheek before I get up, and smacks me on the ass before I walk away. I giggle happily, putting on clothes quickly through my inventory and exiting my kingdom. I look around in the car park in the Fateweaver barrier for a moment before I spot Paige, who is looking around for me herself.

She’s leaned into the goth look even more, and I love it. She’s wearing a couple of piercings that weren’t there last time, a medusa lip piercing and a nose ring. She’s wearing dark eye makeup and a simple lip gloss. Her outfit is simple too, but absolutely gorgeous. A tank top with a Bullet For My Valentine design on it, and form fitting, ripped jeans.

She looks incredible, and I do my best to stop myself from ogling her, instead walking up to her confidently. “Hey Paige!” I greet happily, as she turns to look at me. “Hi!” She says, her hand moving up to play with her hair, probably unconsciously. I hug her quickly, then move back before it can get overwhelming for her. “Ready?” I ask, and she nods. I activate the spell and we’re both transported immediately back to my kingdom.

Paige looks around and smiles. “Gaia this place is beautiful.” She says, admiring the landscape. “The people in it are beautiful too.” I reply innocently. “W-what?” “Come on, the others are waiting.” I say, heading inside. The gothic terramancer follows quickly behind me and receives enthusiastic greetings from Ivy and Mia.

Skylar is less bubbly, but still happy to see her. It’s easy to tell that she’s holding back. The maiden of shadow wants to wait to see how Paige is for a little longer, which I completely understand. The goth girl is blushing heavily and flustered by the time the greetings are over, a fact which doesn’t go unnoticed by any of us.

“We’ll do one dungeon run, then relax. Sound okay?” I ask Paige, having already checked with everybody else. She nods in response. “Wanna choose the enemy?” I ask her, showing her the monster table window. “Anything but the fish people and centaurs, we still haven’t tested those yet.”

Paige looks through the options for a few seconds before one catches her eye. “What’s the ogres dungeon?” She asks curiously. “Oh um…well if you wanna choose that one, you can…it’s uh, it’s something though…” I trail off, chuckling and not sure how to describe the dungeon.

She looks around at my girlfriends for an answer and Mia steps in. “Shrek is the boss.” She offers and Paige laughs in surprise. “What?! No way, I have to see that!” She giggles, and I laugh at her adorable reaction. “Ogres it is then.” I say, and my girlfriends and I change into our armour. Once again, I’m thankful that in my case, it’s a simple push of a button rather than having to actually physically put anything on.

Skylar puts her armour on over her clothes, while Mia begins stripping down. Paige is transfixed by the athletic blonde girl stripping off her clothes for a moment, before looking away and stuttering. “W-what are you doing?” Her face is red as a tomato and she covers her eyes with her hands, trying to be respectful.

“I’m changing into my battle gear.” Mia says innocently, smirking at the gothic terramancer. “But why here?!” The red faced girl protests. “Well my girlfriends have seen me naked, so that’s not a big deal. And do you mind?” The teasing aeromancer asks. “N-no, but-” “Then there’s no issue.” Mia continues, leaving her bra and panties on (a matching set), and putting on her armour.

Paige stutters something incoherent and continues to look away, mostly. I catch her stealing glances through her hands, and from the look on her face, Mia catches it too. Once we’re all ready, Ivy and I make a final check on our cats, who are all good. We walk outside the palace, and I raise my hand for us to enter the ogres dungeon.
