Coffee run

Chomi walked around the news studio with a smile on her face, completely in awe of what others would find mundane. The only way to make this better was if she didn't have to deal with these buttons.

"Hey!"

Chomi turned at the voice as a man in a security guard's uniform came up to her. "Are you supposed to be here?"

"Ikanna nooda forga empacka?" Chomi asked, innocently staring at the guard in confusion.

The Guard blinked a few times. "Um... What?"

"Nii-iek ango Stew-Pad Bish saronga yonchoko."

"... A-are you okay, Ma'am? Do you need a doctor?"

Chomi tilted her head. "Duck-Tour?"

"Take it easy, let me take you to the studio nurse." The Guard said as he reached out and placed an arm on Chomi's shoulder...

"Chomi!" Nick called out as he looked around, trying to locate where the mystery woman was. Sighing, he muttered, "Where did she run off to now?"

"When I said 'Meet me in the van in five', I meant five minutes, you half-witted baboon!" Rebecca spat, causing Nick to turn around. "Not five hours!"

"Firstly, I've only been gone ten minutes." Nick said, "And second, Chomi ran off and I'm trying to find her!"

"Who cares?! Let her run wild, we have a story to grab about a ten thousand year old tomb before another reporter snatches it from us!" Rebecca spat.

"I thought you said it was two thousand."

"Turns out my source made a typo. Anyway, let's get the lead out!"

"I will as soon as I find -"

"Geeze! I did not expect that level of strength!"

Nick and Rebecca turned to see The Security Guard walking out of a door as he rubbed his arm, hissing in pain... And holding a familiar plaid shirt!

"Oh no!" Nick muttered as he ran up to The Guard. "Rocky! What happened?"

"You know, I'm still not sure." Rocky the Guard said, "One minute, I'm patrolling the halls when I run into this woman. At first, I ask if she was supposed to be here and she speaking gibberish. So then I'm thinking that she must have bumped her head or been shocked and try to help her to the nurse. Next thing I know, she yanks me to the ground and runs off, not even caring that she's not wearing a shirt anymore."

"Where did she go?"

Chomi ran down the halls topless before coming to a stop at a room with the words "Employees Only" on the front. She had no idea why that large man suddenly attacked her, but she was glad that she was able to get away. Perhaps it was better if she found Nii-iek again.

Not wanting to run into that man again, Chomi entered the room, glad that it was empty. Looking around, it looked like some weird combination of Nii-iek's living room and kitchen, a couch and television on one side and a table with chairs and a fridge on the other.

Not that she knew what any of those were, of course.

Chomi stopped as she noticed a rack with T-shirts in the corner of the living room half and grabbed one, slipping it on. It only came down to above her bellybutton, but at least Nii-iek wouldn't be upset. Turning around, she saw what looked like a pot with black liquid inside. It looked like tar, but smelled pretty good. And she was a little thirsty from all that running...

Remembering how Nii-iek had placed that drink that came with the pe-zahs the night before in things called 'ka-hups', Chomi grabbed one and poured the liquid into it. Happy with her amount, she brought the ka-hup to her lips and chugged the drink back, feeling the warmth of the liquid run down her throat...

Before she dropped the now empty styrofoam cup to the ground, her body shaking as her eyes went wide and a wide smile split her face. She began feeling a strange burst of energy she had never felt before...

"Great! She can be anywhere!" Nick groaned, a worried expression on his face. "Who knows what trouble she can get into?!"

"Ugh!" Rebecca groaned in annoyance, looking at her watch. "You better find her, because if we miss out on being the first to report this and I lose my chance at becoming anchorwoman, I will personally -"

Just then, Chomi bursted out of the exit doors, letting out an excited yell as she ran outside and ran around in circles, another cup in her hand as she laughed and smiled.

"What the hell is wrong with that bitch?! Is she drunk?!" Rebecca asked.

"Oh, I hope not..." Nick muttered before clearing his throat. "Chomi!"

Chomi stopped zooming around for a second as she turned to see Nick and Rebecca.

"Nii-iek! Stew-Pad Bish!" She yelled quickly and excitedly as she held up her cup and raced towards them. Stopping in front of Nick, and practically bouncing in place, she said, "Ikanna drambo thiga drimaka ango gega moga eingo!"

"Okay, she is drunk!" Rebecca snapped. Half a second later, she narrowed her eyes. "Wait, did she just call me 'Stupid Bitch' again?"

"Chomi! Chomi calm down! What is -" Nick tried to ask before Chomi poured the last of the liquid into his mouth, forcing him to swallow. Blinking a few times at the woman who was practically bouncing off the walls in front of him with a smile on her face, he sighed and shook his head. "I don't know who gave you coffee, but that probably wasn't a good idea."

"Cough-Fee! Cough-Fee!" Chomi repeated, giggling like mad.

"I'm just glad you’re safe, Chomi." Nick said as he hugged the woman, the jittery woman mimicking the motion.

"This is a prime example of a Hallmark and a Kodiak moment." Rebecca said in saccharine voice... Before practically screeching, "CAN WE GET FREAKING GOING NOW?!"

A while later, Nick was driving the news van towards the construction site turned archeological dig site. Rebecca was in the passengers seat applying her make-up as Chomi sat in the back, coming down from her caffeine high.

Or at least she was, as she was now looking over Rebecca's shoulder, the other woman looking annoyed in the compact mirror.

"May I help you?" Rebecca asked in annoyance, looking over her shoulder.

"Ikanna tyana rigao, Stew-Pad Bish?" Chomi asked innocently as she pointed to the furry, black and white make-up bag.

"... Alright, what the hell is she saying, Nick?!" Rebecca asked her cameraman in annoyance. "All I got outta that was that she called me a stupid bitch again! Where is she even from?!"

"That's what I wanna know..."

"What?!"

"I told you, she's from abroad." Nick replied, hoping that Rebecca didn't notice the slip up.

"Well, I dated several guys from European countries, and I never heard that type of - GIVE ME THAT!" Rebecca snapped, yanking the bag back from Chomi.

"Look at that, we're here."

"Okay," Nick began as he held up the camera and pointed it at Rebecca, "ready?"

"Just a second, do I got something in my teeth?" Rebecca asked, baring her teeth.

"You're good." Nick replied with a smile, not even mentioning the piece of spinach stuck in between her front teeth. "Okay, in three... Two..."

"This is Rebecca Daniels of News Channel Nine reporting from The Amelia T. Williamson Dig Site where the archaeological find of the millennia is -" she stopped as she noticed Chomi walking into frame. "CUT! Nick, get her out of frame! I'm not interviewing a lunatic who is harder to understand than Donald Duck!"

"Uh, Chomi? Can you..." Nick said gently as he grabbed her hand and pulled her off to the side, standing her right next to him. "Okay, Rebecca, from the top."

Rebecca cleared her throat as she tugged down on her skirt, getting Chomi's attention. That skirt must have been bothering Stew-Pad Bish, and if she was a friend of Nii-iek's...

"This is Rebecca Daniels of News Channel Nine reporting from The Amelia T. Williamson Dig Site where the archaeological find of the millennia is being unearthed as we speak." Rebecca began in a professional voice, "Named after Amelia T. Williamson, co-founder and co-curator at the Paleology Museum of Science and Archaeology and leader of the expedition, we are standing at what was once the construction site of - " she was cut off again as Chomi raced up and pulled her skirt down to her ankles...

Revealing her My Little Pony print panties as she yelled, causing a few members of the excavation to look up and chuckle in amusement.

"CUT! CUT! CUT!" A red faced Rebecca snarled, grabbing her skirt and pulling it back up. Glaring at Nick, she barked, "Nick! Control your cousin before I'm **** to get ugly!"

"... Not going there." Nick muttered under his breath. Not that Rebecca was unattractive on the outside, but considering how she was on the inside, it was too easy. Clearing his throat, he loudly said, "Sorry, Rebecca! But hey, at least we're not live, right?"

"Shut up!" Rebecca spat before turning to Chomi, grabbing her black and white make-up bag and shoving it into Chomi's hands. "Here! Play with this while those with an IQ above that of a dead garden slug work, alright?! I can afford more make-up!"

Chomi blinked in confusion.

"Take. The. Bag. And. Go. Away." Rebecca said slowly, condescendingly dragging out each syllable as she pointed off frame.

Chomi wasn't sure exactly what was making Rebecca so angry and annoyed, but she could tell that she needed some alone time. Shrugging, Chomi walked off with the bag in her hands.

"Don't go to far this time, please!" Nick called out before turning back to Rebecca. "Harsh much?"

"Hey! Not my fault your family is filled with morons!" Rebecca snapped, "You, your cousin, your sis-"

"DON'T -!" Nick barked angrily, taking a deep breath. "Please, don't go there, Rebecca."

"Fine, fine! Whatever!" Rebecca said, rolling her eyes. "From the top!"

Chomi walked around the dig site with the furry bag in her hands, a confused look on her face as she looked around. Something about this place looked familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"Dr. Williamson!" A digger shouted, running past Chomi. "Dr. Williamson! We -"

"Professor Williamson, Johnson!" Amelia corrected, looking up from her map. "Not Doctor. Now, what is it?"

"We found several layers of permafrost encasing the tomb, Doc- er, Professor Williamson!" Johnson exclaimed, "And given this tombs architectural designs... We could be looking at signs that early man crossing the land bridge could have been more advanced than we thought previously!"

"Hmm... Interesting..."

"Are you still upset about the theft yesterday, Professor?"

"It just boggles my mind." Amelia said to herself as Johnson walked away, "Who raids a tomb and steals only the body? Apart from me and my sisters, of course."

It was true, Amelia and her two twin sisters, Hannah and Xena, were ecstatic upon hearing about the discovery of the tomb and to how much the museum would make with this discovery of a lifetime. But by the time they returned yesterday under the cover of heavy rainfall, the tomb had been opened. And the only evidence of any activity were a series of bare footprints in the mud, a jade necklace in the mud, and the remains of a primitive woven dress stuck on some digging equipment.

"I mean, given the layers of permafrost, that body would have been perfectly preserved. So, who would..." She trailed off as she looked up to see Chomi walking around. "Excuse me! Can I help you, Ma'am?"

"Pro-Fez-Zar?" Chomi asked.

"Professor, yes, but this is an archaeological dig site. Not a tourist trap." Amelia replied, "So either state your business, or -"

"Chomi!"

"Cobunga, Nii-iek!" Chomi called back as she ran back to where Nick and Rebecca were.

"'Chomi...'?" Amelia whispered, a shocked expression on her face as she realized that that was no language used anywhere in the modern day. Quickly grabbing her notes, she looked over them to find that the tomb had some writing above the entrance in a different language. It was difficult to translate at first, but once cracked, it translated six words:

'Queen Chomi, the tribe's youngest queen'.

"That has to be a coincidence." Amelia muttered, looking back up to see Chomi following Nick and Rebecca as another digger led them towards her. "That can't be possible..."
