Arriving at Northhall
Chapter 21: The Campaign
The next day, Darkhorse and Lily galloped up to the gate of Northhall.
“Adventurer!” the human guard called down to me.
“Enter Northhall’s walls, if you dare!” the guard boomed.
“What, only him?” Lily asked. The guard nodded. I slid down off Darkhorse.
“I will enter.” I said firmly.
“Good.” the guard said. The gate opened and I entered. The gate closed behind me, and a menu opened up.
‘The Mystic Realms have long been a peaceful land. But in recent years, war has begun to brew between the species. Orcs and dwarves are at odds, the elves have all but withdrawn from society. Humans are being killed by orcs and goblins, and the world has become a place of fear. The species must be reunited, as a shadowy threat rises in the Seventh Realm!’
New Main Quest:
“Chapter 1: The Rising Evil”
Objective:
>Speak to the Northhall King about the shadowy evil.
“Ok, then.” I mumbled.
I headed up the path to the big castle, and entered it to find Sasha and Amaya already there.
“Seb!” Sasha beamed and tackled me in a hug. Amaya gave a little wave.
“Jess couldn’t get in.” Sasha frowned.
“Yeah, I guess it’s players only.” I shrugged.
“Huh. Interesting campaign, though.” Sasha said.
“Yeah. A brewing civil war as an actual problem shows up? Pretty cool.” I agreed.
“The King will see you now!” the guard waiting by the doors announced. Nodding, the three of us walked through into the throne room.
On two thrones sat the King and Queen of Northhall. The King was a man in his early forties, approximately, with brown hair falling to his shoulders, a brilliant golden crown on his head. Beside him sat the Queen, who was a gorgeous woman in her probably mid-thirties. She had vibrant golden hair, a silver crown, and beautiful teal eyes. She sported quite ample tits, but I could see anything else in the flowing dress she wore.
“Welcome, adventurers. You have traveled far to arrive here in Northhall. We require your aid.” the King said.
“Of course. We heard about a shadowy evil lurking. How can we help?” Sasha asked courteously.
“Well, what classes are you?” the King asked.
“Swordswoman.” Sasha said.
“Mage.” Amaya said.
“Blade Mage.” I said.
“A blade mage? How unique.” the Queen remarked, smiling gorgeously.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.” I bowed.
“Mage, come forwards.” the King boomed. Amaya came forwards.
“I name you my Champion. You shall bear the Royal Seal and be allowed access to any royal property in the Fifth Realm.” the King vowed.
“Blade Mage, come forwards.” the Queen said gently. I did.
“I name you my Champion. You shall bear the Royal Seal and be allowed access to any royal property in the Fifth Realm.” the Queen smiled, and presented me with a golden coin, only large enough to be a coaster. I placed the Seal in my pocket.
“Apologies, swordswoman.” the King said. Sasha gave a nod.
“My Champion, our army to the far south is struggling. The war effort against the rebels in the south are going poorly. They will require your assistance.” the King instructed Amaya.
“My Champion, the Prince took a **** east to the Sixth Realm to combat the rising orc army. He has not responded to correspondence. Can you go and check on his progress?” the Queen asked of me.
Amaya and I both agreed to our quests.
New Main Quest:
“Chapter 1: The Rising Evil”
>Check on the Prince’s war efforts in the Sixth Realm
Sasha looked upset.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her.
“Our party’s going to have to split up.” she said sadly. I sighed.
“Let’s regroup, and find out.” I said.
———
Outside Northhall, which was apparently the campaign city only, we rejoined the party. Jess had met up with Fay, Lily, Ellie, and Dura, and the three of us joined them.
“Ok, so we have eight people. That means we’ll have to go in groups of four to each quest.” I said.
“Ok, so who goes where?” Jess asked.
“I’ll take Jess, Fay, and Dura.” I said.
“Ok. So I’ll take Sasha, Ellie, and Lily.” Amaya said.
“Alright.” I nodded.
“So, where are we headed, my love?” Jess asked me.
“The Prince of Northhall has apparently gone to fight a war in the Sixth Realm against a new army of orcs, but he’s yet to check in.” I explained.
“My quest is to join the battle against rebels in the far south.” Amaya said.
“What if we never see each other again?” Sasha whispered.
“It’s possible. We’re both going into war zones.” Jess admitted.
I pulled my sister to me in a tight hug.
“We might respawn.” she whispered.
“Or we might not.” I countered. She sighed.
“Bye.” she said.
“Bye.” I said.
Onto the Sixth Realm...
