Changes begin

Sam sat quietly next to his mother, brushing her blonde hair in a soothing manner, as she lay on the bed. He had regretted lying to her as he had **** her fourth cup of whiskey, figuring that the **** offered her a solace that, until that night, no one could provide. He had waited until she cried herself to sleep in his arms and he scooped her into his arms, ignoring how fragile and brittle she appeared, and carried her to the master bedroom.

An hour passed, maybe three, but he wasn't counting by any measure.

"...and no clues were given from the collapse of the downtown police headquarters, Bob," the woman on the news reported and he just shook his head, brushing her hair once more before leaning over and giving her one last kiss on the cheek, before he shut the TV off.

"You won't have to worry any more, mom...Cain and I will take care of you." He slid out the first of three silver needles, akin to acupuncture needles more than syringes, and carefully pulled it out of the vial it was contained in. "I'll always take care of you, mom..."

He had undressed her before, the flimsiest robe she had was now draping over her stilted frame, and the urge of bemoan the shriveled creature that was once a powerful, domineering businesswoman was almost too much. For the next hour, he slowly followed the markings on the diagram provided by Cain and slid each of the three needles provided to him in the three designated spots. The first he had slid into her chest, between her slim breasts. The second was carefully inserted into her below the stomach, where he supposed was her womb. The third, and the one that was marked as delicate, Sam had been careful to insert right at the base of her pubic area, at the base of her clit, and even when he did it, he shook his head in partial wonder of what exactly he was doing.

"Sorry..." he whispered as he leaned forward and lit the first stick...
