Ch2: The Ranger

(Hello everyone, I am sorry it took so long for me to upload, I been having internet problems and it was harder to type on my phone than my PC. Not to mention I just been out of it ever since the pass of my grandfather. Hopefully I'll try my best to do what I can to make more chapters. Hope you enjoy this one.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" The woman says, still aiming the bow right at John.

John couldn't believe his eyes, this woman, or at least as he sees it, is an elf. "Has to be a dream..has to be.." John says to himself, either his in some dungeon and dragons world, or he's just dreaming.

"I'm waiting." The elf says impatiently. "Great, guess impatience still exists in this world." John says in his thoughts.

"Ok ok, my name is John. I was lost in the woods and saw your..cabin smoking. Thought I knock on the door for..some help." John says, which the elf looks around her surrounds, which John notices as if she is thinking that John may not be alone or not.

"I'm alone if that's what you're thinking. I'm not in a bandit group." John says, which the elf turns back at him, giving a moment of thought of his words.

Just then, she aims her arrow right at the rope where his leg is hanging up on and she lets go of the arrow, and the arrow hits right at the rope and the rope breaks, John felling on the ground.

“Thanks..” John says, as he gets up from the ground, dusting himself off.

“My pleasure.” The elf says, still keeping an eye on John, as she reaches for another arrow behind her, keeping up her guard. John sighs upon her cautiousness.

“Look I’m telling the truth, I’m alone and I’m not here to cause any problems. I’m lost and I have no fucking idea where I am. I could use directions if there’s a town nearby.” John says, which the Elf’s face expression hasn’t change. Until finally she lowers her bow and arrow.

“If you try anything, I’ll chop your head off.” The elf says, eying at her axe next to the log which John stares at and back to her. “Noted.” John says, though this isn't the first time he felt threatened.

The elf approaches John, only just to pass by him to unlock the door as she enters. John follows her inside as he closes the door behind him.

The room feels more..cozy. John sees what looks to be a few animal's heads hanging on the walls, a bear carpet near a fireplace. "Sit." The elf commands John, offering him a seat on a sofa, which John sits down. The elf hangs her bow right next to her as she sits on the opposite side of John. The two then stare at each other's eyes, the elf woman looks vigilant but stays calm. John keeps calm as well, not showing any threat or harm to her.

"Where did you come from?" The woman asks.

"Chicago." John answers. "The worst place to be in than anywhere else." John adds.

"Chicago...never heard of it." The elf says.

"That's because I'm...not from these parts." John says.

"I see...then what's your business here in these parts?" The elf asks, crossing her legs, which John can see the exposer of her legs, they feel...smooth.

"I...I'm just lost is all. I woke up in the middle of the forest, I was scanning from where I was at, then I got attacked from these three idiot bandits, which I took them down, they were...not that much of a threat." John says, the elf's eyes look more curious of this person. Wondering why is he in these parts of where she is.

"Let me guess, one carrying a long sword and-"

"The other carrying a small dagger and the other carrying a bow and arrow." John interrupts.

"I...see." The elf says.

"I take it you know them?" John asks.

"Yeah, well not personally but, they work for this fellow in a town I usually go to." The elf says.

"I see, the three looked like nut job idiots to me." John says, which made the elf smirk.

"You betcha they are. Their leader is like...I don't know how to say it." The elf says, trying to find the word she is looking for.

"Stupidity a moron?" John asks.

"Well...I'll say yes and a no. He's more of a strong fellow that's way strong than you think." The elf says.

"Gotcha." John nods, looking around the room of the elf's place. "Nice place."

"Thanks." The elf says, even though they have just met, the elf feels a little more..relax with John, which John notices.

"I take it you're not too fond with strangers in your home?" John asks, which the elf nods.

"You can say that. It's just hard to trust people these days, unless you find the right party for the group."

"Right." John says. "I take it you're a Ranger, right? The bow, the leather armor, and not to mention that you're an elf. Not that I have nothing against it but-"

"Yes I am. Wherever I aim, I'll hit my target." The elf says.

"If you hit your target that is." John says.

"Correct." The elf says. "So, John, what is your class?" The elf asks, which John doesn't know what to say as he looks down for a moment, his hands on his knees as he rubs them, and back to the elf woman who is waiting for his response. "I'm...in no class." Was all John can say.

"No class? Then how the hell you took care of those three idiot bandits?" The elf asks. "Honestly, someone would just hand over their gold to them and took off." The elf adds.

"Do I even need a class to fight someone?" John asks.

"No...but those three men are classed, one is a fighter, the other is a Rouge, and the other is a Ranger, like me." The elf says.

"Well they must of had a shitty class from the looks of it." John says, crossing his arms.

"You look young yet you seem to have a knack to defend yourself no problem." The elf says.

"Despite of myself getting trapped from your rope." John says.

"Right." The elf says, as she stands up and goes near the fire to warm up her hands and stares at the fire.

"I'll be honest John. This is one of the rarest times I have someone came into my home looking for help. Your more...different than the others." The elf says. "But, you have to understand it's gonna take a lot more if I'm gonna trust you." She says which John nods.

"I understand." John says.

"So I'll tell you this. Since you are "lost" and don't know where you are, I suppose I won't have no problem to help you out, and as well show you around these "parts" as you say it." The elf says, but John knows there's a catch. "However, you will follow my rules and you will follow it. No matter what." She says, as the elf turns her head to John. "Do I make myself clear?" She asks.

"Yes ma'am." John says with no hesitation, which gives the elf a surprised look that he would accept her rules that easily.

"Alright then, make yourself at home then." The elf says, as she then walks to where it looks to be the door to her room it seems and turns to John. "By the way, the names Thea. Thea Liadon." She says, as she closes the door behind her, leaving John alone in the room for now.

John sighs to himself. "Great...now my day is complete." John says to himself.

To be continued...
