Catching Up

You awoke confused, unsure of what happened or where you were but the warmth radiating from the Stars above gave you comfort. You were resting on an actual bed with real furs. Looking around you saw the same dilapidated stone interior of your temple, but this time... This time there was a shine, almost imperceptible but it was there! Sitting up you realized you were tucked away in one of the apse chapels. Your bed was small, room enough for only a single person but it was a real bed nonetheless! Swinging your legs over after you pull off the fur blanket, you notice a wooden bowl filled with apples and lemons. Wait. Was that a loaf of bread?

Your stomach rumbled with a fury of a thousand starving goblins so you quickly devoured your meal, feeling somewhat satiated except for the burning desire to figure out what in the nine hells happened while you were ****! Sliding into your slippers, you tiptoed across the floor, noting it looked much cleaner and all the random debris was gone. You felt pride in your temple slowly regaining its former glory, the sounds from outside have you pushing on the already partially open door to see Rowan sparring with Fenris. 'NOM!'

"Get off me mutt!" Fenris pins down Rowan, licking all over his face, getting slobber everywhere. 'Tasty!' Giggling at the display, both of them pause and turn to you. Fenris scrambling off Rowan which forces him back down. 'Yay!' You squat down, hugging Fenris tight as he nuzzles against your neck. "Well, glad to see you back up! I figured it would be soon but the pup over here was worried you were gone forever." Fenris looked away bashful, muttering 'Mean!'

Walking forward, you extend a hand to Rowan who takes it and dusts off his clothes. "So, as you probably noticed, we can build stuff now. While you were out we collected some resources from the mountainside and went hunting." 'HEY!' "Alright, Fenris went hunting and I laid some traps. Managed to get a few squirrels and rabbits." The wolf seemed to think that was a better recollection of the events as his tail wagged.

"Well, I'm proud of you two! Where's...? Where's my brother?" Rowan snorted some, glancing over at the newly built, if ramshackle, shed. He softened when he saw how split you were, "Hey, I know it's a lot to take in, I cannot imagine what you are going through. He seems better, his eyes are more silver than green most of the time. I think you both need some time, why don't you check out all the bases upgrades and stuff? Fenris just got some stat increases from his level up, and I got a new feat called 'Quick Feet' that let's me disengage from fights better!" You smiled, kissing the now stuttering elf on his reddening cheek. 'Me too!' With a giggle you give Fenris one as well.

Taking his advice, you head back towards the Temple itself glad to see that aside from the weeds, the grounds were also clear of debris. Passing through the doors that no longer squeak, you make it to the first thing that needs repairing.

Allows you and your underlings to enhance your magic and craft magical items. A mixture of fame, mana, and/or prayer is necessary for summoning and empowering underlings.

Again, not too bad. It only makes sense that silver is used in most of the construction. You are certain quicksilver and manasilver are the progressively higher tiers. The word underlings has you re-reading it twice but you decide to move on. You make your way up the stairs to the Sanctum and the Star Well.

A well that collects magical energy from the stars. Can store mana in bottles for outside use. Some mana also coalesces into an ingot of religiously significant metal at the bottom of the well every few days.

You could practically make that right now! You just needed ten more iron ore, as you remembered your basic knowledge that an ingot is 2 melted ores. You know there are plenty of stones and ores on the mountainside, and if not, Khaldur would have plenty of materials you could barter for. Noting the large loot bag by the doorway, it seems Rowan collected everything from the fight for you. You approach and open it up.

Perhaps when the altar was fixed you could focus the power of prayer to cleanse it? You vaguely remember something along those lines. Nevertheless, it seems that the mountainside held all your answers for now. You decided to check your character sheet to see what was new.

That was an easy choice, you purchase two levels of Eleven Liegelady, disappointed to see that it doubles in cost every time. You decide to keep the rest for when the altar is fixed and you can employ some underlings. That question mark after temporary is vaguely unsettling.
