Catching New Pokemon

Now that I was armed with my new gear, I rushed out the town gates back toward Route 29. I wanted to make sure to have more Pokémon on my belt before continuing on to Violet City, as I would need more to battle the first gym leader there. The fresh air was a welcome change from the depressing Cherrygrove, and I took in a deep breath of it while looking across the tall grass.

Setting out, I kept my eyes peeled as I watched diligently, looking for anything that might jump out and attack me. Sure enough, after only a minute or two, a furry rodent-like Pokémon popped out of the grass and showed itself. With my Pokedex out, I hear the words "Sentret" and read how the creature uses it's tail to warn others.

This was the perfect Pokémon for me to catch.

Tossing out Chikorita, I commanded my loyal friend to attack, and before too long, the Sentret was down on the ground almost ready to pass out. My Chikorita was much stronger, and the Sentret barely had time to react before being tackled into a heap.

Tossing out my first capture ball, the Sentret let out a peep as it the ball closed in on it, and once it stopped moving, I knew it was now mine.

My first wild Pokemon!
