Lets keep looking!

I knew that a Sentret wouldn't be enough, and continued moving through the tall grass. Chikorita had taken minimal damage from the battle with Sentret, and I knew that she would have more then enough strength for another wild encounter. Keeping my eyes peeled, the rustle of some grass north of me caused me to immediately jump, and I rushed to see exactly what was making such a noise.
Once I cleared most of the brush, I could see a bird-like Pokémon flittering and eating some nuts on the ground. Knowing that getting the drop on it would be paramount, I unleashed Chikorita in a single swipe of my hand, and the battle was started. As Chikorita danced around the darkened bird, my Pokedex read off that this Pokémon was named "Spearow".
Unlike the Sentret, this Spearow was bad news, and its peaks were much stronger then I had anticipated. Chikorita was holding her own as best as she could, but I could see her health and defenses starting to wane with every attack thrown her way. Thankfully, her strong physical tackles were enough to wear the bird Pokémon down, and I was able to toss a capture ball and finish the fight with a flourish.
Another Wild Pokémon caught!
