While John and the twins began to look over the possible upgrades to the castle, Idena, without any prompt, crawled under the desk and unzipped John’s pants. John, who sensed what was about to happen, readjusted his chair to give Idena more room as she pulled down his pants and underwear. A click made a drop-down menu appear, to which only Idena’s name had appeared. “Idena, would you like to be in charge of the Rookery?”

“I would be happy to serve my master by looking over the rookery. I’ve actually been up there and made a nest already. That is where I’m keeping your dragon egg, master,” replied the harpy, who immediately went back to orally pleasuring her master.

“Oh right, the egg!” exclaimed John, who had completely forgotten about that because of recent events. “Idena, can you go get that egg? You can finish blowing me after you retrieve it,” ordered John.

“Of course, master,” was all Idena said as she climbed out from under the desk and flew off to another part of the castle. John decided he’d have to do a proper exploration of the castle and find the stairwell to the Rookery. He also clicked on Idena’s name, which caused her portrait to appear in a square box that was previously empty over the rookery area.

“That is super god damn useful!” John happily said. To test it out, John sent a quick test message to both the twins, who received it, and then to Anywn, who was quite happy to hear from John, who promised to explain to her at a later date why he hadn’t seen or talked to her in a few days. “Ok, let’s see what else we have…” mumbled John as he looked over the UI. The remaining choices were the Stables, the Armory, the Smithy, the Dungeon, and the Watch Tower. There were a few more other places, but they were greyed out, which prevented John from seeing what they were. When he moused over them, he at least got a text box that explained what was needed for them. The first was Secretary of State, and that required finding another kingdom to have formal relations with. Apparently the Order’s manor did not count, and he would have to find an actual permanent barrier like the one his castle was in. The second was merely titled “???” and would be unlocked when found in his castle.

“Hmm. I wonder where this mysterious room is?” mused John as he decided on choices for the other slots.

“What if it’s that locked room that was in the dungeon?” asked Mikuru. John nodded in agreement.

“Yes, that could be it. So we know where the room is, just not how to open it yet,” John decided. “So, do any of these other buildings interest either of you?” The twins looked over the various options, deciding which would best suit their abilities. Miho decided first while Mikuru needed more time to think.

“I wanna be the watch tower! It’s up in the sky and I can listen to the wind! Plus I can play with Idena in the Rookery tower!” exclaimed the younger twin. John agreed with her assessment, and picked her name from the drop down menu.

Watch Tower Captain chosen. You can now change the requirements of who can and cannot enter your kingdom.

“Well shit, good choice Miho!” a pleased John praised the girl, giving her a kiss on the cheek as she leaned near him to look at the screen. Miho gave a weak smile to John but did not return the affection.

“Duh, of course it was a good choice, that’s why I chose it!” said the girl, her chest puffed out, pride on her face.

“You just wanted to be high in the air,” Mikuru retorted, which caused Miho’s face to distort from her annoyance at her sister.

“Nuh uh! I totally knew it’d let John do that!” Miho refused to give up her stance. Mikuru sighed, she knew all too well these conversations never ended well, so she let it go. Instead, she moved to John’s other side to determine her best role.

“I believe with my skills, I would currently work best in the Dungeon, would you agree?”

“Hmmm, yes, I can see why you chose that. You don’t use weapons and your skills aren’t the best for crafting weapons and armor, but if we do get someone for that, your abilities to manipulate the earth could help get resources now that I think about it…”

“I can bring up some common and uncommon minerals from the earth, but the rarer ones are so far deep that my abilities are not sufficient to bring them to the surface,” Mikuru informed John, who sadly nodded.

“We’ll have to work on training you, if that’s the case. Anyway, let’s put you in the Dungeon slot,” John said as he performed the motion.

“Well, that’s useful I guess?” John said, not sure if he intended to use the **** collars anymore. He had only used it twice, first to save himself from dying and again to train Idena. With no plans to make that sort of thing common, John decided to just accept that at least he had a place to store people in case he had to hand them over to Moira or Mrs. Wentworth, which he also had no plans on doing any time soon. “Guess it’s better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.” As the three continued to look at the screen, Idena returned, egg firmly grasped in her talons.

“Master! The egg, its glowing!” exclaimed Idena, who gently placed the egg down on the counter. Idena was right, the egg was glowing, pulsating moreso. It would pulsate every few seconds, but it was slowly increasing.

“It looks like it might be ready to hatch,” John guessed.

“I wonder if it absorbed some of that bright light that was in the rookery as I got there. From what I can tell, the light changed around the Rookery, made it more prestine,” the harpy informed her master.

“So, when I assign people to locations, it seems that the location is cleaned up and made to look like it should? That’s good to know, saves us cleaning time. But I wonder if that power will affect the dragon in some way?” questioned John as the pulses finally became a single, glowing light. “Everyone, get back! We don’t know what’s going to happen!” commanded John, his subjects followed his command. A few seconds later, the egg sent out a pulse of energy that sent the four flying back while a bright light filled the room, blinding the four.

“Owwwwwwwwwww!” moaned Miho, who rubbed her butt on the ground. “Not cool egg, not cool!”

“I don’t think the egg did that on purpose, Miho,” John informed her, to which she stuck her tongue out on him. I’ll give you something to use that tongue on later, thought John as he got up. “Everyone ok?” he asked. Everyone nodded, rubbing various parts of their body that hit the ground. Other than a few bruises, they’d all be fine.

A noise that came from the computer desk drew the attention of the group. The noise, a low rumbling, like one a confused animal would make, was coming from the newborn dragon hatchling that was sitting on the table. The creature made eye contact with John and let out a happy purr. John quickly cast Observe on it before approaching it.

“Huh, so it’s a dragon whelp, and it sees me as its parent. It’s stats aren’t that bad for level 1 too,” John informed the group before he began to approach it.
“Wait, are you sure you should approach it?” asked Mikuru, her cautious nature getting the better of her. Miho and Idena also gave a nod, agreeing with Mikuru.
“I know it’s dangerous, but if we can get a dragon on our team, imagine how powerful we could be!” John was excited and scared at the same time as he slowly made his way to the table, his left hand outstretched. The whelp’s purrs became more audible the closer John got, the creature’s head outstretched to sniff his hand. John stopped and let the baby dragon sniff his hand for a few seconds, it then licked his hands, let out a happy yelp, and jumped towards John who had to quickly shift around to catch the dragon as its tiny wings allowed it to glide into his arms.

“JOHN!” yelled the three girls in unison as they rushed to his side, worried the dragon whelp attacked. Instead, they were treated to the sight of the whelp sitting on John’s chest, licking his face.

“It’s ok girls, I think she likes me is all,” John said with a smile on his face.

“She?” asked Idena.

“Yep. The Observe said that this little one is a girl. So we need to think of a name for her. Oh, and before I forget!” John exclaimed as he activated King’s Mark on his left hand, which placed the mark on the first location he could reach, which happened to be the dragon’s underside, near where her tail meets her lower body.
