"Were you watching the whole time?" she asks the lithe assassin, gently arching one of her eyebrows questioningly.

"For the most part," Cassandra answers, "Your mother's guards found me on the battlements as I was... disposing of some loose ends."

"What need do you have of me, your highness?" The assassin asks cautiously, turning back to the princess.
