Cara's Escape

Cara had slipped out and indeed met Ginny at the entrance to the city. Ginny was in her normal clothes and waiting impatiently. "Good you made it," she says with a nod, "alright princess? Ready for a run through the desert? There'll be danger and discomfort and we'll be making a little stop on the way," Ginny says.

Cara merely nods. She'd gotten her gear back and felt ready for anything. The two waited in the darkness for the patrols to pass and then headed out through the gate. With the gate still destroyed it was easy to get in and out of the city, the problem now was crossing the desert.

The two women made their way across the sands, the cold wind of the desert night whipping around them. As they went they talked quietly, if for no other reason than to have something to focus on.

"So... Yeah I'm actually a dungeon core... A very old one too... I used my magic and the body of a

Halfling archeologist to create a new form through which I could escape the dungeon and explore the outside world disguised as said halfling," Ginny explains.

"So... the real Ginny Haversom is dead?" Cara asks as they walk.

"Well... In a sense yes and in a sense no. Her form is destroyed as is my old body, but both she and I exist in this form. Her consciousness now partially makes up my own. It would I guess be wrong to call myself the dungeon core in a new body so much as I'm a fusion of Ginny Haversom and the Dungeon Core inhabiting a new body together as a single entity," she explains.

"So... why are we going to your old dungeon?" Cara asks.

"There's some adventurers I left there, Um... Myrelia, Nal and Prithima. They along with some relics of my old power should still be there and they can be of use to us," she explains.

"I see... I assume you're going to pretend to still be Ginny and trick them into helping us?" Cara asks.

"Hell no... I'm going to subsume their identities and abilities as well. They're already wired into the dungeon so it would be easy," she says and then hesitates, "in case you're wondering, inability is the only reason I didn't subsume you and just take your abilities for myself already," she says.

"Noted..." Cara responds.

"Speaking of you... So, how did some Light Noble Scion become an Assassin for the Darkness? Bit of a strange career path..." Ginny states.

"My father didn't care about me. I was just a bartering chip for him and he gave me to... a monster. After my... honeymoon... I fled, but I knew there was nowhere in the Light's territory I could hide from my father... He'd find me and drag me back and then... I'd be stuck with that monster again," Cara explains, "I realized the only hope I had was to go somewhere the Light couldn't reach and therefore somewhere outside my father's power. So... I joined the Darkness and got trained as an assassin... I never told them my real name or status... If the other followers knew who I was... They'd probably try to use me too... The daughter of a Noble Family is a pretty useful hostage after all..." she admits.

"I see... Sucks," Ginny says and then sighs, "we're here," she says as they arrive outside the dungeon and Ginny leads the way into the darkness. They enter the room where Myrelia had been held and Ginny narrows her eyes, "she's gone... Someone's been here," she says and then growls, "hurry, I can feel them they're still here!" she says and begins to run further into the dungeon. Cara gives chase and soon they enter a chamber and Ginny cries out upon seeing Doom standing there.

"Ah! You!" Ginny cries and Doom turns to her and she sees Myrelia, Nal and Prithima there as well and then also notices her corpses.

Myrelia is understandably shocked to see her and Doom and Cara are shocked to see each other as well and at that moment the heavily pregnant and **** Prithima gives birth.
