She spies no movement anywhere and deems the coast clear. “You have to be more careful than that, Rubes,” she says, “or we’re going to get caught…” She steps toward the water until she is upon it. Her reflection, mirroring her anxiety and excitement, stares back at her. “I can do this… I can do this…” She turns her head back around and stares at her clothes, making sure none of them had suddenly ran away on her. They hadn’t. Her cloak was still on the boulder, her shoes, socks and clothes were still on the ground, Crescent Rose was right next to them, and so were the canteens. The canteens! In a burst of motion, Ruby shoots over to pick up all the canteens and races back to the water. “How could I almost forget to fill the canteens,” she facepalms. “They’re only the whole reason I’m here!” Her hands work quick, opening a canteen, dipping it underwater until it fills, closing the lid and grabbing the next. Once the last canteen is filled, Ruby puts them back with Crescent Rose and returns to the waterfront.

She stares down at her reflection again before finally dipping her toe in. A chill, gentle touch kisses all over it, and any anxiety she felt before is washed away, replaced with excitement and pleasure. She puts her whole foot in and is hit with a wave of ecstasy. It feels so nice that she can hardly contain herself as she lets out very vocal moan as the lake water caresses her achy foot. It does not take long for her other foot to join it, followed quickly by her legs as she chooses to sit down on the gradual, sandy incline of the shallow end.
