Call For Help

"Help! Somebody please help!" you shout, while straining with all your might against the vines. As you continue to struggle, more of the vines emerge and sinuously wrap around your legs, forcing you to the ground. No matter how hard you fight, the vines seem stronger and you feel yourself being dragged slowly back away from the path towards the deeper forest.

Just as you begin to lose hope, a figure emerges from the forest path. It is your classmate, Ayame Kuroki. She's dressed in a short-sleeved shirt and a pair of running shorts; probably out for a morning run before classes start. Ayame is a little taller than you with short brown hair and a slender, athletic build. Her face shows a look of shock as she sees your situation.

"What's happening? What are those things?" she asks.

"I don't know but help meMMpph!!!" you cry as another vine emerges from the bushes and wraps around your mouth. As it presses against your face, you get a taste of the vine and are surprised to discover that it doesn't taste like any type of vegetable you've ever had. It has an almost salty taste that seems kind of... familiar.

"Hang on," says Ayame, "I'll get you out of there." She rushes to your aid, tearing the vines away from your right arm. She's very strong and seems able to unwrap you quickly, but out of the corner of your eye, you notice two more of the vines creeping towards Ayame along the ground.

You could warn her and try to fight them off together, or is it more important to get yourself free first?
