Which path does Edmond take?
By the Creek
Though both routes had their own risks, by following the trail by the creek Edmond would at least be better able to run away if things turned south. With little shade and few places to hide on the mostly open path, however, Edmond knew he had to keep his senses sharp. If even a single goblin were encountered he'd only have a second to act.
As he followed the trail, he heard voices ahead. High pitched and scratchy, they spoke in a language he didn't recognize full of short barked words usually followed by nasally laughter. Indeed, it was impossible not to notice their approach.
Two goblins, judging by the voices, either on patrol or just taking a stroll. Either way, it meant bad news for Edmond. Still, he knew that they were coming, and they didn't know he was there. With his bow in hand, he might be able to take the two goblins out, but did he risk raising an alarm?
Alternatively, he could find a place to hide before the goblins passed by. The tall grass that grew by the stream would provide a bit of cover, though not much.
What does Edmond do?
