By fully breaking her remaining ties to her former life.

"How's my Patient doing today?" Doctor Kellerman asked as he entered Batgirl's room. It hadn't been that long ago that just the sight of Doctor Kellerman would have filled Batgirl with feelings of anger and rage and yet that was no longer the Batgirl that sat in front of him. Gone was the Fiery heroine that struck fear into the hearts of criminals. In her place sat a shell of the woman that had first been brought to the facilities sometime ago. No longer was she confident or defiant as due to Doctor Kellerman's treatment Batgirl could no longer be sure of anything. Her grasp of what was or wasn't real had begun to break leaving her unsure if she was a hero turned patient or a patient that thought she was a hero.

All this brought great joy to Doctor Kellerman who took great pride in the work he had accomplished but nothing filled him with joy more than how Batgirl answered his question.

"Not well Doctor" Batgirl said to Doctor Kellerman. "I know deep down that I need help and I know I can trust you," Batgirl said with a pause." But there's a part of me inside that screams not to even after everything thing you've done to help me" Batgirl said with shame in her voice. That shame though filled Kellerman with excitement as more and more Batgirl was becoming open to his help. All that remained was to remove the last bit of doubt that remained in Batgirl. Doubt of what was real, who she was, and who she could trust all of which would soon be tied to Doctor Kellerman and his words.

"Don't be ashamed my dear" Doctor Kellerman said bending down towards Batgirl as he put his hand on her shoulder to reassure his patient." It's only natural for a person to have doubts when they are questioning everything they once knew to be true" Doctor Kellerman said as he continued to try and gain Batgirl's trust. "But I want you to know you are making great progress and I'm proud of you," Kellerman said in a fatherly voice that for some reason unknown to Batgirl filled her with great pride.

"All that remains before you can truly move on to the next step of healing is to remove the symbol of your delusions," Doctor Kellerman said as he moved his hand off Batgirl's shoulder and onto her mask." The choice is yours my dear are you ready for me to remove this symbol of your unwell mind and begin your walk into the light of wellness or are you going to stay trapped in the shadows of your mind?" Doctor Kellerman asked as he slightly began to move farther up on Batgirl's mask till his fingers had reached the top. With his hand now on the top of Batgirl's mask, the moment of truth had arrived would Batgirl let the doctor remove her mask or would she continue to resist his help?
