Buy something

"Okay okay.. look. 4 shillings and I'll buy something from your shop" you say as you look around. The old man growls a bit, but then again seems to be getting lighter in the face. "Fine." He says as he jumps down from his chair disappearing behind the counter again.

You start browsing the shop, looking at the assortment of curious things the old man seems to have collected over the years. Old dusty documents, containing languages you never seen before. The documents doesn't really seem to be of any worth, a bunch of ancient history maybe? Perhaps a few recipes or old blueprints from the great cities. A rolled up document catches your eye. Just as you're about to pick it up the little girl from the tavern, enters the shop. "Oi, old man Chap. I've got your some new papers directly from Hallerby." She yells out as she notices you "Oh! You're here!" Her eyes open with interest "Did Old man Chap give you a hard time? He just takes getting to know". She splurts out merrily laughing at you.

"Give it here, Ingritte" says old man Chap from behind the counter. She runs over to the counter, and disappears behind it.

You keep browsing the shop and find a bowl full of different rings. Some are rusted, some are still polished and silvery. But as you keep digging through the bowl, a ring attracts you. It feels like a whisper that calls for you, it's a fine ring made from curled silver that encloses a small white stone. Holding the ring in your hand you stare into the stone and a small pinkish hue can be seen, the whisper is getting louder untill.. a pull in your undershirt clears your mind. Ingritte is standing next to you. "Are you gonna be at the tavern tonight? Most of the town is gonna be there" she says stil pulling your undershirt.

"Maybe.." you say as you drop the ring back into the bowl. "It's the beginning of the holy days of ash. You know, so we celebrate it.. the town I mean" Ingritte says with a big smile. You smile back at her and nod your head. "You'd better!" She says as she waves goodbye while storming out of the shop.
