The ring

You pick up the silver ring again and feel a longing you've never felt before. In a closed fist you keep the ring close to your chest. Walking towards the counter you can hear Old man Chap scrummaging around. Just as you're about to call out to him, he appears from behind the counter. "A ring of Leuco" he says looking at your closed fist. "A pretty little thing.. yes. Quite a rare thing to come about now a days, but I guess I can sell it for a couple of shillings".

"I'll pay whatever you want" you say clutching your hand on your pouch of money.

Old man Chap looks at you curiously "Did it speak to ya?" He says as he jumps down from his chair. Walking around the counter he continues "what did it show you?" He comes closer and pulls your hand down so he can see the ring in your palm. "Nothing." You say as you close your hand quickly again. The old man Chap pauses as he looks at you "Ya know.. the stone embedded in that ring. The stone of Leuco are of olden times. From before the world you know as is. The stone in that ring is without color, only those chosen by the stone can beget its color. Although the ring can bring fortune it also bring misfortune. If chosen it is not a ring to play around with. Now tell me kid what did you see?"
