But... That was embarrassing...

It took Julie awhile before she could calm down, all the soldiers joining her in the safe house. When she finally took a good look, she was surprised to see that all of the soldiers were woman. Two of them, a stoic black woman and a fiery looking redhead, took stock of the supplies and defenses, meanwhile Captain Maynard and the last soldier, who had a band on her arm indicating she was a medic spoke with Julie in another room. The medic, a busty blonde introduced as Olivia, checked Julie over, making sure she was medically ok. She was quite friendly, reassuring Julie during the checkup that it was just a standard procedure and she seemed all fine. Julie was shocked at how beautiful Olivia was, almost looking more like a supermodel than a soldier.

Captain Maynard was standing in the corner during Julie's checkup, an awkward look on her face. She was a Caucasian woman and stood about 6 feet tall, with very short brown hair and hazel eyes. Her face was quite attractive too, and Julie could easily see that under her uniform she had a very fit body. Once Olivia was done with her checkup, she stood to the side and Captain Maynard sat across from Julie. Clearing her throat, she spoke.

"Julie, once again I would like to commend you for making it this long alone. You are quite the brave young woman to survive a month here by yourself, good work." Julie only nodded, not sure what to say, and Captain Maynard continued speaking. "My unit and I have been sent forward to recon the areas in the city for a forward advance, and rescue any survivors we can. We would appreciate it if you could tell us anything you know about the area, what kind of creatures are around, and anything else that might be of use."

Julie pursed her lips in thought. "I-I Saw two Claw Head's earlier, as well as Ovi-Wasps that took out one of your helicopters... Other than them, I know **** Roaches are pretty common around here, as well as Brood Flies and Chitter Bugs... And I heard something really big moving down the street a few days ago, but I didn't see it."

"Do you know of any other survivors around?"

"N-no.... The last people I saw were two people attacked outside by the Claw Heads, one of them was killed and the other...." Julie couldn't finish her sentence, and thankfully Captain Maynard seemed to understand. "O-Other than them... Just distant screams really, I think most people are just hiding now... Like I have been." Julie looked down and hugged herself, thinking about how lucky she was, now all she had to do was survive longer with these soldiers and she was free.

Captain Maynard nodded silently, and when Julie seemed like she wouldn't continue, she spoke. "Very well, thank you for this info Julie, I must speak with my team and then contact my superiors for orders. Please wait here and rest, you seem like you need it. She motioned for Olivia to follow her, and she nodded. When the two of them left the room, Julie looked up and called out to them. "T-thank you! For finding me..." Ending her sentence in a mumble she looked down again. Captain Maynard stopped for a moment to give her a reassuring smile, then they left. Julie put her face in her hands, a small blush creeping on her cheeks. She thought the Captain seemed really cool, like some sort of badass action hero. If she was with the Captain, surely she would be safe... Now she just has to wait to hear the plan.
