Chapter 1014 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Bunny Hop to a better spot.

After the world stops bending, you hit the ground with a thud a bit harder than you meant, though the other two seem fine. You turn around to see that you nailed the positioning, however, with the rope only being a few feet away. Surely those who witnessed what happened must have been confused, but you wouldn't see them now. Instead, you, William, and Vex, stand side-by-side to watch the beginning of the match.

"I wonder what else you're capable of, Warren. Or perhaps I should say, what we're capable of," says William.

He inspects me a lot. I think my strange abilities have him stumped, which feels kinda good. Though it does worry me when I think about what he can do then. I don't even fully understand my own body. It seems to be that this unfinished class inside me can be customized in a way, but it hasn't exactly been in my control. I've absorbed a couple powers, though that was certainly a very specific and very intense condition to do so. I feel like I can't give him information on what I've learned. Not yet. I still don't fully trust him.

You've missed some of what the elf has explained, but it seems like a water gun contest of some sort. There are various vantage points, pieces of cover, etc, but also you notice different small coloured tanks laying around in various places, whether it be in the grass, atop a post, or between a pair of rocks--ammunition, you assume.

Stax absolutely rocks her uniform of course. She may have a different type body than her three taller opponents, but the sporty shorts hug her curvy hips tight, and the top can barely contain her bust. The gun in her hand, despite being a type of weapon you've never seen in this world, fits her very well, which she holds back over her shoulder while her other hand adjusts the tight fabric hugging her rear cheek with a snap. In some ways, she has a disadvantage due to her height, though on the other hand, she's also harder to hit, and has far more opportunities for cover.

A strange one this contest is Jika, as she's not only been a subdued, quiet, stealthy figure already, but her bird-like feet allow for quick precise movement, and of course, she has winged arms to fly. The most important part though is her lack of hands. Yet perched on one leg, she's able to grasp the firearm with a talon curved around the trigger. It's certainly the worst way to operate the weapon, though her maneuverability is a gigantic advantage as well. You doubt the water could spray nearly high enough to hit a harpy in flight.

Kis-sa is odd as well. As the bard explained before, she may have two weapons and two bodies, but that means they share damage too. You're not sure how said damage is calculated, but it must involve the bracelets they all wear. Both canine-like figures stand stoic with their weapons at their sides. She'll certainly be a difficult one to face. The strange situation with her body aside, she's also a demon, and anubians are masters of the hunt. Your only solace is that this isn't a match of claws and teeth, so she may not be so skilled with this strange new weapon.

You're not sure what to make of Ariusia. Insectrin are difficult to predict, though much like the aforementioned demon, you're also glad this isn't a fight to the ****, as those blades coming from her back look dangerous. Still, she stands confidently with a grin on her face. Her antennae twitch in excitement. Already, she's peering around to her three opponents in each opposite corner.

"And... begin!" Juaela shouts in excitement.

Jika seems to have taken note of the more rectangular field of combat, as right away, she leaps into the air with incredible speed and nears the gap between her slightly closer opponent Ariusia the mantis-girl. She grips the water gun in her talon as she soars forwards. Though as she nears, her opponent leaps behind a boulder, and aims up to spray a stream of water that doesn't quite make the height.

The harpy's talon crashes against the top of the rock, and she aims the barrel point-blank down to spray. However, the mantis tumbles to the side.

"Not fast enough," says Ariusia, and she sprays her second shot, which collides directly with the harpy's chest.

The cold spray causes Jika to gasp in surprise. Water drips down her body, and the thin, white fabric of her gym uniform starts clinging to her skin--outline of a brassiere becoming clearly visible beneath. At the same time, a tiny meter on her bracelet fills with a red light. Unfortunately, her eyes become distracted as her attention turns to her wardrobe malfunction.

With a glint in her eye, Ariusia sprays a second shot, now with both hands, right at the harpy's groin.

Jika leaps back and takes flight again, but not before the water hits her thigh and streams down her leg. The bracelet fills more as she moves away from range.

William beside you sighs. "She's calculating and clever, but she must control her embarrassment."

"You have that problem too?" you ask.

Elok sure likes his bugs.
