Bring the Vampire Revolution! (alternate)

[Jessica's POV]

Jessica, Miko and Diana drive down the highway to the ambush site where they are to rendezvous with the bus of cheerleaders. It's 1:40 am, and Jessica is apprehensive. She worries that Diana and Miko will sense her betrayal. Diana is driving, with Jessica in the back seat with Miko. Miko is positively shaking with excitement. Diana is more solemn, preoccupied with the importance of the night's execution. Miko keeps trying to make out with Jessica, but Jessica brushes her off. Jessica hopes that doesn't the tip her hand...

Jessica is more anxious than she had expected. She had never participated in something of this scale before, as a human or as a vampire. Jessica lazily stares out the window wonders how history will remember her. A hero that stopped an unimaginable atrocity from taking place? A pathetic footnote on Elizabeth's inexorable rise to power? More likely, regardless of the outcome, she won't be remembered at all.

"We enthralled the bus driver last night," Diana explains, "he'll stop in a dead zone for cell service that we've identified. Fish in a barrel."

Jessica knows the rest of the plan: bring the humans to the facility Elizabeth and Diana had constructed. Drain most, enslave others. A "lucky" few might even be turned. The beginning of their brave new world Jessica thinks sadly. But hopefully the end as well.

The vampiresses pull up to the stopped bus around 2:06 am. As Miko exits the car, Jessica takes the chance to covertly check her phone. There is a text from "C", Catherine.

C: Elizabeth and I are wrapping up dinner. We'll meet you at the factory, Good luck! :P

Nothing overtly suspicious Jessica thinks, smart. There is a picture attachment, but Jessica doesn't open it.

"Let's get 'em" Miko says, "I'm starving."

"You just ate!" Diana says, rolling her eyes. Miko shrugs.

The three vampiresses exit it the car and walk to the coach bus. The side door is open, and they hear a woman talking to the driver:

"There is no cell service here.... We can't even call anyone" the woman says, "how long will this take to fix?"

"Ma'am, I don't know.... I'm trying" the driver says unconvincingly.

"I am going to take some people and walk until we get cell service" the woman responds. Is she the coach? Jessica wonders.

"I'd advise against wandering off into the dark" Diana says, stepping out of the shadow to stand in the bus' doorway. "You never know who you might encounter out there...."

Diana climbs into the bus, followed by Miko and Jessica. There are about thirty or so humans spread out over the large bus - two dozen or so women and the rest men. Most appear to be college aged, with a few adults here and there. Jessica looks at their confused faces. I can't help you she thinks.

"Ladies and gentleman, may I have your attention please" Diana says. The chatter dies down and all eyes turn forward. Jessica sees a few of the cheerleaders futilely tapping away at their phones. "You are all to play roles in an historic moment. You should be proud."

"Excuse me, who are you?" says the woman who had been talking to the driver a moment ago.

"Ah, Coach Gifford I presume?" Diana says. The coach is confused, but nods. "I'm afraid your services won't be needed" Diana says sinisterly. In the blink of an eye, she grabs the woman, spinning her around so that she is facing the rest of the bus. "Witness your race's future" Diana says as the woman screams. Diana holds the woman tightly around the throat, and bites into her neck. The coach's blood sprays out as Diana savagely drinks her.

The reaction from the other humans is delayed, but after a few seconds the screaming begins. Some start trying to open the windows, but Jessica knows that Diana ensured all exits were sealed. Jessica watches as they fruitlessly tap at their phones. She is surprised that she feels genuine pity for them. Carmilla tapped something real in her, something that she had thought was long dead. Still human after all she thinks, smiling to herself.

Diana drops the exsanguinated coach into a seat. Blood glistens on her mouth. Diana, Miko and Jessica all flash their fangs at the humans. Jessica can see Miko panting with desire. Jessica can smell the blood in the air. Part of Jessica feels sick. But part of her just wants to eat them all with Miko.

"Stop screaming" Diana commands and the bus suddenly goes silent save for some muffled sobs. Jessica is impressed with how easily Diana was able to compel so many cattle. "Jessica and Miko are going to come down the aisle and collect your cellphones. Roger," she continues turning to the bus driver, "I think that it's time that we were on our way". The bus lurches forward as Jessica begins reluctantly grabbing phones from the terrified humans. So many. So much blood.
