Brandon wants to talk to Kurt

Ever since they left Azure Rocks that morning, Brandon didn’t like Kurt. He knew the type, having already had a few teammates who were like that, guys who thought they were God’s gift to women. The athlete caught a few lingering looks from the older guy towards the girls in their group, and being the boyfriend of one and friend to the other three, he didn’t like it one bit.

Despite it being dark, the sky was clear of any clouds, allowing the moon to provide enough light for them. As Zack and Gavin moved from the beach to sit on the pier, Brandon and Kurt dived into the lake. The blonde guy was clearly exerting himself, while Brandon was taking it easy, so he could save energy to take care of Ashley later. He slowly swam towards the guy, distant enough from the pier so Zack and Gavin couldn’t hear it.

“So Kurt, what brings you to Azure Rocks?”

The blonde guy shrugged. “Heather’s mom and mine are sisters, she wanted to come visit,” he chuckled. “Naturally, she dragged me and my dad along.”

“You don’t like it here, then?”

“No offense, bro, but your town is a drag,” Kurt grinned. “When I got here and heard that Heather was bringing you guys to Ravers Cabin, I jumped at the chance to actually have some fun while I’m here, you know?”

“Yeah, yeah,” Brandon fake smiled. “About that fun, are you having it?”

The older guy shrugged again. “I admit I thought it'd be better,” he answered disdainfully. “At least I’m having a blast with Victoria and that other redhead with whom I'm sharing a room, Chloe.”

Hmm, so he’s not into Ashley, that’s good to know, Brandon thought, but he couldn’t let the guy mess with Victoria and Chloe and end up ruining Zack’s trip. “Just don’t get too friendly with them, okay?” the athlete said, a serious look on his face. “They’re very sweet girls and everyone here likes them.”

Kurt frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You tell me,” Brandon raised a challenging eyebrow.

“Is that a threat?” Kurt raised his right eyebrow as well.

“For now, it’s just a friendly warning,” Brandon smirked before turning around and submerging himself in the water. He then swam back to the pier, leaving behind a spluttering Kurt.
