Book Club Pt.2

I entered the library and the girls were already waiting for me - they were sitting around the large table at the middle, behind the couch and they all stared at me as i walked in, they invited me to take a seat and Daisy said "Come here, right next to Scarlet" and giggled, Scarlet and i were embarassed but i decided to do it without much hesitation. I sat down and May started explaining what we were going to do today, she just said "Ok... this session is going to be simple, we will read the book on our own but since we are going to be near each other we can call it a group reading" i got confused, i raised my hand and asked "So each of us is going to read the book on their own? Isn't that an individual activity?" She frowned at me and said jokingly "Well since you are complaining you can read the book with Scarlet at that couch" she pointed at a couch that was at the back of the room, that area was a bit dark and i noticed her intentions - she was clearly joking but i decided to say to Scarlet "Alright, that seemes good... shall we?" And i grabbed her hand to lead her to the couch at the back, the other girls laughed and Scarlet covered her face because she fully turned red.

We sat next to each other on the couch, we were quite far from the girls at the center table. May ordered all of us to begin reading and so we did, they were reading silently but since i was with Scarlet i had to read it out loud - i wasn't trying to be loud so i started whispering the words of the book to her, she placed her hand on my chest and rested her head on my shoulder, it was, again, really cute, she was hearing everything i said and even though i couldn't see her face that much due to the darkness of this are i still noticed that she was looking at me like i was the most valuable thing in the world - i don't know how to describe it but it was a special look, like she was really interested in what i had to say but she was lost in her own thoughts while i whispered her the book.

Maybe she is not listening to me... maybe she is fantasizing about me... can that happen? I asked myself, i stopped reading and she seemed to recover conscience, she looked at me and said with a soft voice "Why did you stop?" I looked at her in the eyes and said quietly "I want you to read now" she smiled and agreed to do it.

As she was now whispering the book to me, still with her hand on my chest and her head placed on my shoulder, i noticed that May was staring at us, she smiled at me and gave me a thumbs up - like she was giving validation for me to be with Scarlet, i was happy that she supported us like that but i slowly began to fall asleep by the soft words that Scarlet was reading to me.

I was struggling to keep my eyes open and Scarlet noticed it, she brushed my face and said "Are you falling asleep?? Aww... you are so cute when you are sleepy" i opened my eyes as soon as i heard that she called me cute, i stared at her eyes and i really felt like we were going to kiss but she just giggled and blushed, i was worried that i couldn't make a move but i knew that she probably didn't do anything because her friends were near.

We continued reading together but then May announced that the reading session was over, we packed our stuff and as we did i took my chance to say to Scarlet "Remember that we are going to meet up at the park now" she smiled and seemed excited to hang out with me alone. We left the school and waited for the bus, May and Daisy were going together somewhere else so they left early, May joked around and said to me "Goodbye André, see you tomorrow... tell me how it goes with Scarlet" she laughed and i really couldn't believe that she said that - i tried to keep my composure but i got nervous because now Ellie was still with us at the bus stop and she probably was going to tease us, gladly our bus arrived before Ellie's so we quickly stepped in and sat together at the last couple of seats.
