Blue's Sisters

You and Blue continue trailing the rough edges and corners of this cavernous yet oddly linear path that seems to stretch for miles. All you can see from the light emitting from your torch is a never-ending path of rock converging into darkness.

Of course, Blue doesn't seem to care since she's a slime - one that can easily be pierced by a sharp edge if it came and simply pass through as if nothing happened. It makes you a little envious, but not enough to want to be a slime. They had their own limitation. More so than humans, they need more water or available liquid to survive. While they can stay in sunlight, given ample shade or clouds, they wouldn't be able to tolerate long periods of the harsh sun directly at them.

As you follow her steps, Blue glances at you for a moment and sees your wariness about her. She sighs.

"I can understand your distrust in me, adventurer. But equally, I am not without distrust either," she explains.

"Glad there is some understanding then."

"But," she continues, "...there is little I know from this city and there are plenty of creatures that I have not seen before. In the chance that you do survive when I am unable to help, then I hope to learn and explore the secrets that are buried here."

"So, you're betting on me?"

The slime smirks. "It's as you have said. I am quite bored."

You frown. This slime girl is quite cheeky. Well, either way, you're planning on proving her wrong. After many generations, you want to find the treasure greatly rumored. Given the stories of Xerasm, there has to be some truth to them, right?

It might be considered historical treasure even if it's some item or weapon that's not in good shape. As long as what you find can be sold for a high price, there's a chance you can retire without having to struggle anymore.

Suddenly Blue stops, causing you to pause as well.

"Ah, shit."

"What is it?" you ask, readying yourself.

"My sisters. They seemed to have moved quite a bit since I last visited them. I can feel their leftover residue already along the walls," she warns.

You widen your eyes. "Within these narrow caves?"

Blue shrugs. "Possibly in a cavity further up, but either way, I can feel that there are a lot of them..."

As you grow worried, you can't help but wonder about something.

"Why were you resting far away from them anyways?" you ask.

Blue scoffs. "...and get involved with my mindless, degenerative sisters? You must be joking!"

You hold your breath. It's clear she's not fond of her sisters and perhaps being the only smart one of the bunch, it makes sense why.

Sighing again, she turns to you. "There may be a way to get past them."

You narrow your eyes. "What do you suggest?"

Looking at your entire form, she gives a small smile of excitement. "Well, I can perhaps cover you with myself. That way, you'll be protected from my sister's attempts to milk you."

Your eyes widen. Covering you...with her entire mass of jelly? You can't help but shiver.

"What the hell...why would I let you do that?! I'd rather blast away those slimes myself!" you argue.

Blue groans and slaps her face at your stupidity.

"Look, you can try, but as far as I know, you're the first male in months since the last one. So I'm sure many of them will be hungry for some male fluids that they haven't tasted in a while."

You're a bit shaken but gripping your hands, you growl back. "So I just allow you to suck me dry instead?"

Blue lets out an exasperated laugh. "Oh, sure...don't trust me? Fine, continue and see if you can protect yourself from a large mass of my sisters alone."

You turn away from her and place your hands on your head. Of course, this is crazy...but honestly, you have no experience fighting them.
