From when the troops got off the vehicles, Third Company surprisingly comes across no towerlings whatsoever. It is very unlikely for towerlings to suddenly disappear this close to the tower. Tamara doesn’t like this. She doesn’t like this at all. She repeatedly tells her troops to be on the lookout and be ready for an attack, but for the next mile no attack comes.

When they have traveled around one mile closer to the tower, Tamara tells her footsoldiers to switch. Those that have been riding on the vehicles are to jump off and those that have been walking get to sit on the tanks and APC’s. While the troops are changing a large blob of white slime suddenly falls from the sky and splashes on the ground. Everybody looks up and sees several other blobs falling down.

“Take cover!” Tamara yells at her troops, then crawls into her tank and closes the hatch. The other tank commanders do the same. For the infantry it is chaos.

“How is it going, Chloe?” The Black Bunny asks the Matriarch.

“Looks good.” Chloe says, staring at Third Company without the need of any binoculars. “So far everything is going like expected. Want me to describe it?”

“Please, I can’t see like you do.” The Black Bunny asks.

“Most of them have hunkered into their vehicles. One of their APC’s already got a blast but isn’t dissolving.”

Black Bunny looks at Chloe with concern and asks, “Isn’t that bad?”

“Not at all, Gabriella.” Chloe says. “I find it quite interesting. We’ve already destroyed plenty of their tanks before, they should know how easily we melt them down. Yet they still send a couple in anyways? I expected them to have found a counter. After the battle is done, I’m going to try and appropriate those vehicles. I’d like to learn more about their new defenses.”

“Looks like you’ve got it under control.” Gabriella says as she walks to the edge of the apartment roof. “Please keep me informed.”

Gabriella then looks at the roofs of the surrounding buildings on which are perched a dozen Artillery Beetles. Each of them is as big as a car. They all have their abdomen pointed at Third company and their shells and wings are wide open. Underneath their shell their body resembles a large thick phallus. While they rest on the four front most legs, their two hind legs grab their soft phallic bodies and move back and forth. As they rub it, it slowly swells until it performs a single throb. Then a large blow of white beetle sperm launches out of their mushroom shaped abdomen and hurls in the direction of Third Company. Then their abdomen shrinks, but soon enough it starts to swell again for the next round.

Blobs of beetle sperm fall left and right. On the vehicles, next to them. The troops that are already in the tanks are lucky, but those outside have no time or room to get in. Tamara ensured her troops that their losses are few and next time an attack like this happens she will be prepared. She also ordered all the pink haired soldiers to be left behind. They cannot afford to babysit **** soldiers. But when the tower has fallen they can go back for them. Tamara does however take with her the two that carried a fellow soldier into the buildings. They may be nude and tired, but their weapons are still good and they can still fight. Then her Company starts moving again.
