Becky notices some strange paintings as they leave the cave

They made they way out of the caves quickly enough. It was kind of like walking through an abandoned city, in its way. The signs of the Gnolls' former lives there were all around them, from the pelts, to the scraps of food and bones. There were even some crude cave drawings.

Becky idly glanced them over as they made their way out of the cave. To see art from such lust crazed creatures was strange. She couldn't imagine one of the gnolls they had encountered even understanding the concept of a painting, much less taking the time to sit down and etch one onto the wall. They were there anyways, undeniable proof of behaviours she couldn't really imagine.

Becky's eyes traced over a painting of a litter of Gnoll pups, with two paternal looking member looming over them, a male and a female, from their different stature and the way they stood close together. That was another oddity that occurred to Becky... there hadn't been a single female Gnoll in the entire cave from what she could tell, and none of the women they had rescued even looked particularly pregnant. Why was this collection of male Gnolls even here in the first place?

She found herself looking at another painting, barely visible in the light of a flame wielded by Emmaline. It showed a gnoll, taller than other depictions, and standing more upright, his hide covered in strange symbols. The next image depicted that same Gnoll, now wreathed in strange shadowy forms, the likes of which Becky had never seen before. The painting of them was bizarre, this constantly shifting, convulsing shape wrapping in on itself... no-- that was impossible, there was no way a painting could shift.

"Becky~ If you don't hurry up we're gonna have to leave you here!" Emmaline's voice caught her attention. The others were already quite a ways down toward the entrance from her. Maybe that was why the painting looked like it was shifting, since her light was so far away? No... Becky could have sworn something was off about it.

"We really should get moving!" Fuu's voice joined Emmaline's.

"Sorry!" Becky yelled her apology, jogging up to rejoin the others.
