Barbecue time

When the weekend rolls around, you all pile into your car and head over to Dave and Lisa’s house. Everyone is quite excited, especially since you heard that Lisa and Katie apparently agreed to take in Saya as well, and she’ll be there too. Mazzy, Dakota, and Ellie sit in the back seat, with Dakota and Mazzy chattering constantly. Kenna sits beside you in front, and she’s no quieter, clearly excited to meet Lisa and Katie.

When you pull in, you can see Dave in the back yard at the grill, beer in hand already. He waves as you park, and the girls all hop out, waving and shouting hellos. You all make your way into the yard, finding Lisa there as well, relaxing at a table they’ve set up.

She’s gotten a shorter haircut, giving her a more youthful look, but her sparkling green eyes and dazzling smile are as welcoming as ever. “You got here sooner than we expected! Dave just started cooking.”

Dave grins over his shoulder. “I’m on my third beer, though!”

Lisa rolls her eyes as she stands, coming over and giving you a hug, and a peck on the cheek. “Anyway, it’s good to see all of you! It sounds like you’ve been busy!”

She gives the girls a hug each, and then pauses in front of Kenna. “And you must be Kenna! Dave wasn’t kidding when he said you were tall and pretty!”

Kenna laughs. “I appreciate it, miss Lisa.”

Lisa waves a hand. “Just Lisa, we’re all friends here! It’s nice to meet you, Kenna.”

Kenna smiles. “Likewise, but I hear I’m not the only big girl here!”

Dave laughs. “That’s for sure! Saya is around somewhere. Apparently she wanted to get in a workout before you got here. We all think she’s trying to show off a bit.”

Lisa giggles. “Can’t say I blame her, though. C’mon, have a seat. I’ll go get Katie, she’s inside fixing some other food.”

Just then, Saya walks around the corner, clearly having finished her workout.

It’s the first time seeing her outside of the cafe, and as she stretches, you can’t help but stare. Wearing only a sports bra and a pair of tight shorts, she is an impressive sight. However, when she spots you and the girls, she freezes, her eyes wide. After a moment, she darts into the house, much to the amusement of Dave and Lisa. Dave grabs a beer from a nearby cooler and tosses it to you.

“She likes showing off, but not publicly. I don’t think she expected you to be here yet.”

Lisa smiles. “Put it this way, we’re lucky she was wearing a top.”

Dave laughs. “Or unlucky!”

Lisa shakes her head. “You all get comfortable, I’ll go calm her down and get Katie to come out.”

Dave shoots you a grin. “Calm her down she says. I’ve heard that before, and it was an hour before they came out of the bedroom!”

Lisa winks as she heads inside. “Don’t be jealous, baby!”
