Cookout banter

After a couple minutes, Lisa comes back out with Katie, carrying an assortment of food. The slime girl looks very proud of herself as she sets a big bowl of potato salad on the table. She sits down across from Mazzy with a big smile.

“I hope you like it! It’s my first time making food for someone outside our family.”

Lisa laughs as she sets down a salad and a bowl of potato chips. “We’ve been teaching Katie how to cook.”

Katie nods excitedly. “I know it’s nothing fancy, but I’m getting better every day!”

Mazzy grins. “It doesn’t have to be fancy to be tasty!”

Dave laughs at the grill. “That’s the truth. And she’s already way better than Brian!”

The girls all laugh, and you roll your eyes. “Yeah yeah, I can’t cook. No need to rub it in.”

Kenna leans over and rubs your thigh. “It’s ok, you have other talents we all appreciate!”

Lisa giggles, leaning forward. “I like you already, Kenna! You’ll have to spill some gossip later.”

Dakota grins. “Why wait? We can tell you all you want to know about…daddy.”

Lisa blinks, and looks at you. “Oh really, it’s daddy now? Well well, isn’t that interesting…”

Now you’re blushing, and the girls are giggling, even Ellie. Fortunately, you’re saved by Saya emerging from the house at that moment. She appears to have taken a quick shower, with her hair still damp, and she’s wearing a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. She sits down beside Lisa and gives you an apologetic look.

“Sorry about that display, I didn’t know you would be here so soon.”

Katie laughs. “Oh please, you were barely showing anything! Normally you prance around naked!”

You can’t be sure, but you think Saya is blushing. “Well yeah, that’s you guys. But…these are my coworkers and bosses…”

Dakota grins. “Not here we’re not. We’re all just friends here.”

Kenna nods. “Yeah! And besides, you should see what the boss lets me do to her…”

You chuckle and shake your head. “You seem a little wound up, Kenna.”

The dragon girl shrugs. “Aren’t I always?”

Dave laughs as he brings over a big plate of hamburgers. “Well, keep it in your pants, you two. This is a cookout, not an orgy!”

Lisa grins and nudges Katie. “Not yet, anyway.”

Dave sighs, but you see he’s smiling. “You see how you’ve corrupted my wife, Brian? You’re a bad influence!”

You chuckle. “Right. Totally my fault.”

Ellie giggles beside you. “A-after all, look at me. I w-was so innocent, a-and now…”

You laugh. “Ok, ok. So we’re all perverted.”

Mazzy crashes her arms and sticks her tongue out at you. “Speak for yourself! I’m a lady!”

Kenna shakes her head. “Oh, sure. The walls aren’t soundproof, you know!”

Lisa smiles. “You can be a lady, AND be wild in bed, you know!”

Katie giggles. “Oh, for sure! Why, just last night, Saya and I…”

Saya interrupts. “ANYWAY! The food looks great, and I’m starving! Let’s eat!”

Everyone laughs, but there’s general agreement. Everyone digs in, and conversation slows as the food is enjoyed.
