Back to the lake

It was quickly getting darker outside, as the sun was starting to set behind treeline, and the teens in the lake were just about to pack up and leave.

Victoria was quite revealed, as she was the only one who'd noticed Ashley returning to the cabin again. Still she worried though, especially as Kurt had joined them just a few minutes later, while coming from direction as Ash had come running. Whatever he'd been up to it was likely no good, and the way he kept ogling the girls in their swimsuits wasn't making her feel any better about him.

"Hey, Vick...?" She was suddenly pulled back from her thoughts by Chloe, who walked out of the water to her. The curvy redhead wasn't usually talking to her much, but this time she looked a little anxious about something. Perhapd she too had troubles with Kurt, or had noticed Ashley running by...?

Instead there seemed something else on her mind though, and she was keeping her voice low so to keep the others from hearing. It was obviously something troublesome as well, as she had a hard time explaining herself.

"I don't know if you noticed..." She started, then hesitated again. "But... Zack is really into you, you know...?"

"Huh?" Vicky just stared at the other girl for a second, completely unprepared, and then glanced back to Zack who was still busy chatting with Bran in the water.

"Uh, no!" She dismissed the whole idea with a sudden laughter, as she found it such an absurd thing to say. Not that she didn't like the guy, but she'd always assumed that he would finally get together with Chloe - the one who was now telling her a different story entirely! It did give her something else to think about though, and she couldn't help from keep laughing. "No way, Chloe! He's all yours!"

"No, he's not!" She fired back at her, seeming almost offended, but then started blushing for no obvious reason whatsoever. "Just... just forget I said something, ok? I just wanted you to know about it."

And with that she hurried back towards the cabin, without waiting for the others to catch up, and leaving Victoria perplexed on the beach.

Meanwhile Zack was just about to get out of the water, and noticed that Chloe was already ahead of him.

"You coming as well?" He asked Brandon, who'd already been in for a whole lot longer, and likely had Ashley waiting for him in the cabin.

"Well..." Said Brandon, with a sheepish look further out into the lake. Heather was still out there, but looked like she too would soon give up. "Just give me a sec..."

"Alright then." Zack agreed and turned back to the beach again. He immediately forgot about Bran though, as his heart froze upon noticing Kurt trying to flirt with Victoria. Chloe was nowhere to be found either, and the pretty blonde looked really troubled as the other guy tried to chat her up and even reached for her buttocks.

"Calm down Zack...!" He tried to tell himself as he approached them slowly, though he wanted nothing else but give that asshole a kick in the bum...

"Looks like we're heading back to the cabin." He said out loud, to nobody in particular, while reaching for his towel and cutting Kurt off in the middle of a line. "You coming as well?"

"Sure!" Vicky replied, though she didn't look quite as relieved for the interruption as he'd hoped for. Instead she gave him a rather troubled quick look and just hurried off with Kurt following directly at her heels.

Perhaps she was actually falling for that guy after all...? Just the idea of it left a sour taste in Zack's mouth, that proved difficult to get rid off.

Then he too started heading for the cabin, with too much to think about to even look back for Bran and Heather. Even if he would, he'd guess that they would follow him shortly though...
