Chapter 27 by Crayman Crayman

THE NEXT DAY...

Back to Work.

You found it difficult to forget that night. Even the next day when you were at work, you couldn't help but dwell on the night before. The way Emily teased you was an absolute torment, but you'd never came so hard in your life. The memory alone was enough to cause a stir in your loins. The distraction probably aided in the situation you found yourself currently in. Your laptop had been failing for quite a few hours now. You tried to 'fix' it yourself, but no matter what you did, you ended up with either a blue screen or an unresponsive desktop. This was especially frustrating because this was your own personal laptop that you used at work, seeing as the work-provided hardware was ancient.

You were on the phone with the IT department. A single guy in your office named Brad. He was your typical IT administrator. Overweight, nerdy and slightly too condescending for someone who's job it so assist the moneymakers. After what seemed to be hours of your repetitive reassurance that you did indeed turn the computer off and on and still faced the same issue, Brad finally folded.

"Okay, I'll fix your computer and will arrange for a temporary laptop to be sent to you." Brad droned.

"Great. Thanks." You thanked him with more enthusiasm than he deserved.

The temporary laptop was a piece of shit that barely processed one program at a time. Just when you were recounting the fond memories you had of the failed computer, Brad called you again with some bad news.

"This is completely fried. I'll have to spend a few days to restore it." He informed you.

"What about my work? I need the files on that computer." You began to panic as you recalled the countless documents you had saved.

"Well work doesn't insure me to recover those files. We don't have the necessary hardware here. Sorry." He confirmed the worst.

"So what? There's no way I can get anything back!?" You exclaimed.

"Like I said. I don't have the hardware necessary for that sort of stuff. Believe me, if I had half the things I had at home, this'd be a breeze." He said.

"So you have the necessary equipment at your place?" You asked slowly.

"Well... I suppose, yeah. But that's not work. I'd be using my own time." He began to say.

You desperately needed those files. Well, you could make do... But you'd save yourself so much trouble down the line. On the other hand, you didn't want Brad to get his sweaty palms on your personal laptop.

Do you ask Brad to fix your laptop?
