Back at the precinct

Syd had easily captured Michael Wesson who was now sitting in the interrogation room. She thought she would let him stew for a bit. Maybe it would loosen up his tongue enough to let out other secrets she'd be happy to learn. Twenty minutes later, she entered the room to find Wesson sitting there, cuffed to the table, smiling.

"What are you so happy about?" asked Syd.

"Oh believe me, I'm not happy. I don't like being ratted out, and I was ratted out. I think I figured out why, too." He was too amused by the situation. "By the way, has your partner... Uh... What's her name? McKenna? shown up with Beretta yet?"

"I don't think that's any of your concern," Syd laid into him. "What is your concern is how many years you'll be serving in prison. We can make it easier on you, if you co-operate and give us some names, or any other information you might have."

He laughed at her again. "You don't understand. The only one who knew where I was, was Beretta himself. We covered our tracks well. Beretta is the one who told you where to come find both of us. He knew you'd want to bring me in over him, and that your partner would probably be the one to come after him. We've both been set up. You see, he has a thing for McKenna. I think he's in love with her."

Syd scoffed at him. "You can't seriously think I believe all of this, do you?"

"It's your choice, Burnett. Either believe me, or don't. But while you're standing there, trying to decide, your partner will soon be on her way to Mexico as an uninvited guest of the Arryo Cartel. They were going to pick up both of us today, and fly us out of here."

The look on Syd's face changed from one of sheer disbelief to one of great doubt and concern. It was true Nancy had not returned, nor had she called in. Just maybe Wesson was telling her the truth. "Where are they headed for?" she finally asked.

"Oh, what the heck. I'm not that bad of a person. I'll tell you exactly where they have the plane. They have a landing site right outside of Sleepy Hollow. If you hurry, you might just catch them."
