"Walter... what do you think you're doing?"

Walt blinked looking up. "Sorry Dee. What's wrong?"

Daisy giggled and Charles laughed. "You're a "guest" remember," Charles said. "You don't need to hand out cake and coffee."

Walt shrugged and grinned. "After that monster ranpage does it matter? Besides we're "family" right? It's the least I can do. Here ya go, "Small Mols"," he said handing over a piece.

Molly Gardner kissed him on the check taking the little plate. "Thank you, Unky "Big Hoss"! You're the best!"

"Dude," said Gavin and a Nurse Joy who'd already scarfed down their pieces and was scraping the plate. "Killer cake! I could go for like, four more pieces though... I got the munchies!"

Daisy shook her head. "Wait until everyone gets a piece first then we'll hand out seconds." She gave Walt a conspiratorial wink. "I'm going to take a piece to Mr Wayne. Walt go eat with your ladies!" She said looking over in their direction

Walt did too. They were all patiently waiting for something it looked like... even Nora who was heroicly restraining herself, salivating. "Oh!" He said realizing then chuckled. "Right."

Charles chuckled and clapped him on the shoulder. "You ain't "alone" anymore."

Daisy smiled too. "Don't keep your princesses waiting."

Walt nodded smiling. "Thanks. Good advice. I won't... I promise." He grabbed two pieces and a cup of coffee and started making his way that direction with a slight detour.

Bowie and Bowsette made a face at their plates as he passed. "Not enough gunpowder," Bowsette said.

Walt reached into his pocket pulling out some cartridges and a multi tool and handing them over. "Here ya go. Pull the bullets and season to taste."

They both grinned. "Thanks, Hoss!"

He stepped up next to Carrie and held out one of the plates. "Cake and coffee?"

She smiled. "Aces!" She took the cake cake and coffee.

Walt grinned but looked around. "Mihoshi?"

She shook her head. "Not this time. Bruce didn't want her along." She watched him raise his eyebrow and she smirked. "That professional jealousy thing. Mihoshi gets a lot of that because she's so "accidentally good". Irritates the so called "real detectives"."

Walt sighed and shook his head. "Office politics. That's unfortunate. Tell I said, "Howdy"?"

Carrie grinned. "You betcha! It'll make her super happy. She keeps talking about our little misadventure."

Walt smiled. "That's good. She's a good detective in her way and an even better person. Good heart. Speaking of I'm happy to see you. Too bad it's business."

She nodded. "I feel the same... you aren't going to ask?"

Walt shook his head. "About the investigation? No. Like I said... I want to but if I did..."

She nodded looking at Batman. "You'd handle it your way. The vigilante way. Like MY Batman."

Walt nodded. "Yes. I would... or worse."

She sighed. "They tried you know... to get HIM to work for PWBI."

Walt smiled. "That is some incredibly stupid thinking. That would never work."

She nodded. "It didn't. He outright refused and when they threatened to **** him... he laughed and told them to just try it with a grin if they dared. You can guess what they did after that?"

Walt nodded. "I can hear them now. "Put that thing back where it came from or so help me!" You don't like this Bruce?"

Her lips got tight. "It's... not the same."

Walt nodded. "'Nuff said. Want to come sit with us?"

She sighed. "I really want too..."

Walt nodded again. "But you're on duty and it'd be awkward. Call me when you can? We'll figure something out... make it work." He took her coffe cup and sipped from it.

She smiled and blushed slightly doing the same after he handed it back. Indirectly kissing like a couple of kids despite their age. "I will... but you shouldn't make promises you can't keep."

Walt gave her a look smiling. "I don't... we'll make it work. I promise Carrie. I don't shiv."

She almost melted. She believed him. He'd turn villainous and steal her away from the PWBI if he had to do it. He was like her Batman that way. He had his own way of doing things and his own code and that was how he lived his life. Ride or die to the end... and it made her heartbeat skip. "Balls Billy..." she whispered watching him go. *I'm totally falling for him... and I want to fall!*

Walt sat down with the girls in the scorched grass and trampled dirt. As Daisy had predicted there was only the one dinner table left standing and only a few chairs. But that suited them just fine. "Sorry to keep yall waiting on me. I'm a fool sometimes."

Penny smiled and kissed his cheek before sitting next to Neo. "You are a very kind person in your way, Walter. I think that might be your best quality."

Senko smiled holding his hand. "I agree. Such a nice young man! Your tendancy to always think of others is a wonderful quality and we didn't wait long at all-"

Nora's stomach growled and Sasha's growled back followed by his own. Walt chuckled smiling at his family. "Long enough. Let's eat shall we?"

Walt finished saying his goodbyes to the Gardners. It was a pretty memorable wedding... even for them. He smiled watching the ladies saying their goodbyes as well.

Penny and Raven hugging and exchaging phone numbers with Starfire and Aelita. Infact Penny hugged all the Gardners just like Starfire hugged all of his family. Even foulmouthed HK-47 who wished her many happy future murders with her meatbag offspring.

Ilulu chatting with Bowsette. Pyrrha hugging Daisy. Neo smiling with Aelita. Sasha high-fiving Charles with Zwei wishing his friend well. Nora chucking James shoulder. Manami promising Bowie a copy of her footage... and on and on.

He smiled. His families accepted each other like he knew they would but more than that they bonded. Happily at that... and seeing that was his favorite moment of a day of happy moments.

Penny made her way to his side and then turned to see what he was looking at. Walt smiled wider as she smiled too saying, "What a wonderful day today is!"

Walt smiled and nodded. "Yes, my love. You read my mind and my heart." He kissed her. "But it's also been a very long day... Let's go home."
