Assess your inventory

Well, hopefully the griffon doesn't try to come back anytime soon. You sit a little farther into the cave entrance and see if your antics paid off.

A scowl mars your face as you make your assessment. You are unharmed beyond some bumps and scrapes, as is Una, but you have almost nothing to show for the raid. Una had gone straight for the egg, not realizing that it wasn't just a huge chunk of jade, and the hunks of stones you had managed to gather were not as valuable as you hoped, the ores composed mostly of pyrite or common quartz or the like.

You toss the glittery false treasure with a disparaging growl. Una comes to sit on your lap, caressing your face as she tries to catch your eye.

"It fine Tolin. Luck comes and goes like rainstorm. We unharmed, can try again with next monster, need not bow to defeat."

Her words are sufficient to prevent you from sinking into the brewing self-pity fit, though as long as she's on you, you might as well indulge in some more of a pick-me-up.

You pull Una fully against you in a harsh kiss. You goblin slut moans into you as you claim her lips. Her tongue flicks over your teeth, only to be pushed back when you slip your own over to explore her mouth.

You part after a long moment, panting lightly. Una looks up at you with a groan as she grinds on the tent in your pants. You hiss in approval and grope her buttocks, only to tug her off you.

"Save it for later, I'll do you properly when we set up camp."

She stays sprawled out on the ground in front of you, looking like someone pulled the very earth out from under her, and you merely straighten your clothes and pick up the last couple of gems you hadn't appraised. You take a look at them, and ****.

"Una, do you realize what these are!?"

"Something that will make you do me properly now?" She snipes as she pulls herself to her feet, but you disregard that.

"These are Memory Shards!"

"Is that valuable?"

"In gold worth, no, but these are phenomenally useful. You break them and they teleport you to the entrance of whatever dungeon or cavern you're in."

Una lifts an eyebrow at that. "Impressive."

"You bet your beautiful ass it is!"

You pocket them as you stand and walk. A little fantasy of sneaking into a dragon's lair and shoveling your pack with jewelry and coinage, only to disappear in a flash when the dragon discovers you and you throw a Shard down before it can react. Even if that doesn't come true, you did come up this way looking for an alternate exit strategy, and here it is!

"Do you leave now?" Una inquires. Your smile drops, and you pocket the Shards.

"No, we're no richer than we started, but we have a life line now. I promise, the next time we're in danger, or when we finally get our hands on a big enough treasure pile, we're be out and on our way to civilization that same instant."

You press forward, Una grumbling in tow. It's smooth going forward and down, though you eventually have to pull out a torch when you leave the light behind.

It's a long way down, but eventually you here something up ahead. Motioning Una to stay close, you continue onwards cautiously. The sound becomes more distinct, resolving itself into a rhythmic clatter, and a dim red glow is visible up ahead. You put out your torch as you get closer to what appears to be the entrance to a new section of the cavern.

Sidling up against the wall before the entrance, you peer around to the commotion beyond.
