“I know I really have no position to ask this sir!” Pausing trying to think how to ask Cartier for a favor “But is there anyway my roommate at the academy can get assigned to this squad also?”

“And who was this roommate?” His eyes going to the pile of folders on his desk in front of him “It wouldn’t happen to be Sadie montgomery by any chance?” Carly eyes betrays her as Cartier picks up the folder with her name on it.

“Yes sir it would be but how?” Cartier burst out laughing stopping her question

“Because she the next one I’m to ask!” Opening her file and whistling at the picture inside “Well now where were the recruits like that when I was in the academy?” Closing the folder. Looking at Carly, "Anyone else you care to recommend that the mayor should be made aware of?"

“Not that I can think of right off the top of my head!”

"Well then can I tell his honour that you accept?"

An hour later a young girl dressed in blue jean overalls, a white t-shirt and cowboy boot, a expensive watch on her wrist is sitting across from Cartier. “So Miss Montgomery that’s it in a nutshell!”

The look of excitement in her eyes couldn’t be hid “I’ll have to thank Carly for her recommendation!” Squirming under Carier’s gaze in her chair “I’d be proud to join the squad Sir!”

“Then it’s settled, report to Sergeant Thereaux at nine sharp tomorrow morning! Extending his hand “And welcome aboard Constable Montgomery!” The pair shakes hands.
