Ashley

"Can we use your room?" Ashley's voice came from behind the door.

Heather laughed. "Ash, so soon?" She opened the door for her best friend.

"Madison and Victoria are taking forever dressing," Ashley said. "The guys are using the other bathroom, and Brandon and I..."

Heather said, "Hang on, Ash." She looked over her shoulder at Hannah and Taylor and raised her eyebrows in a question.

Hannah nodded. "Sure."

Taylor says, "Well, Ravers, you're the resident manager," she says, giving Heather a half-smile. "And I seem to recall some agreement...?"

"Yeah, we were just going," Heather says. "Use a towel and make sure you leave the window open for air."

"Thank you SOOO much!" Ashley said.

"Wait. Your sock, Ashley?" Hannah said.

"Oh yeah." Ashley's little sock with a pom-pom on the ankle went onto the doorknob.

"Middle bottom drawer is lube and baby wipes," Hannah said. "And gloves if you need 'em."

Heather whispered something in Ashley's ear, and she squeaked.

Ashley blushed pink. "Okay. Let me go get Brandon."

"Let's go, gang," Heather said.

They had made it to the end of the hall when they heard the patter of excited feet behind them. Brandon's athletic sock was draped over the top of the doorknob to join Ashley's, and the borrowed bedroom door shut with a click.

"Did we forget to pick up the shaving towel?" Taylor asked.

"Think we did," Hannah said. "And the other drawer is open. Oh well, that's what they get. Young love."

"So awesome," Taylor said.

"So awkward," Hannah said. "You'd think by now Ashley woulda got clued in, but it's all still WOW and OH NO and NOW and stuff."

"Good thing she has a big sister," Taylor said.

Hannah made a face. "I think I got her started, kinda," she said.

"Okay, c'mon," Heather said. "Sun. Beach. Lake."

Heather led the two college girls out the door and along the path to the lake, their beach bags swinging and flip-flops smacking as they went. Hannah and Taylor were wearing sunglasses and visors to shade their eyes and wearing light beach wraps. Heather wore an oversized T-shirt over her suit.
