Area K - Stairway

The inside of the tower is just as decrepit and musty as it looked from the outside. A deep purple mist flows down the stairs like a sickly waterfall and pools across the floor before dissipating. The staircase ahead is made of crumbling stone steps that spiral around an opening in the center of the tower floor, the bottom of which is cloaked in mist... you definitely do not want to find out what's down there! A long rope hangs directly above the hole and reaches up and out of sight.

You climb up the stairs for a few floors, but partway up you come to several steps that have completely crumbled away. You notice the remains of the collapsed stairs that remain attached to the wall, forming a narrow ledge you could crawl across; but several of those stones seem somewhat loose. The gap in the stairs is decently large, but with a running start you could jump over and grab the far end. The rope could also be used to climb up past the gap, if you can properly dismount it... and if the rope isn't frayed or rotted somewhere above you.
