Arboreal Arson
Fairy Glade, West Fenmoor
She had spent the morning gathering resources, mushrooms, twigs, honeycomb, all kinds of things could be held now in her inventory. Some of them could even be crafted, but she needed to build a crafting station, which required a lair, which required land to be claimed, which required a Claimant Crystal.
The gods really loved these damned crystals, whatever they were. Everything new that she could do required something else that eventually required a crystal before she could do it. It was infuriating. Fairy’s aren’t known for their patience, they weren’t supposed to be patient, and it was like everything in this update was designed to infuriate her.
For example, some of the things she needed to build her tree house required that crafting station. So she tried to gather resources to build the basic crafting station, but it needed wooden logs, not sticks. She could gather sticks off the ground, but wood came from trees. She could punch the tree, but with her size and strength penalties it would take roughly 500 million updates to punch down a tree. If she had an axe she might be able to do it, but that required a crafting table to make.
She cursed the gods again. She needed one of their damned crystals to even have a chance to build a crafting table, and then she needed to already have a crafting table to make the axe to get the wood to build the crafting table she needed to have to make the axe to get the wood.
"AAARRRGGGG!!" She screamed at the sky.
She was furious and decided to go torture another Snacker. She was pretty sure whatever god was in charge of this last update was a fan of Snackers and out to get her. She would not let such a petty and ugly god succeed. She would get a crystal, find an axe, build her tree house and never wake up in that ugly ass cave again. But before all that, some Snacker was going to suffer.
“Where are you at you ugly little shitbags!” she yelled. “Come out and get what’s coming to you!” Sadly, being a fairy meant her voice was sweet and soft and yelling didn’t carry very far or sound nearly as scary as she wished it sounded.
Suddenly she felt pain, heat and pain. Something was burning, it felt like part of her was burning, it was strange and painful, and she somehow knew something important was on fire.
“What the fuck?” she yelled as she felt nauseous, she was being pulled, like something was stretching her.
*snap*
Ugh, she felt awful, she also wasn’t where she had been a second ago. She had been out near the snacker nests, now she was back in her glade, and it was burning.
“There she is, I’ll get her!”
She dodged, a fire blast coming way too close to her.
“Shit!” she yelled, then flew up and away as the fire mage threw another fire blast at her. She was expecting that one and dodged it more easily.
“Yeah, fly away little fairy, but you can’t escape this time!”
The mage pointed his hands at one of her trees, flame shot out and the tree caught fire, it hurt her, she could feel the tree burning. She quickly used one of her nature spells to call water up and put the tree out, it was scorched but still standing. A notification told her the tree would resist fire for a few minutes.
“Nice work, but there’s so many more.” The mage’s hands lit on fire and he walked to another tree and touched it, setting that one on fire.
“That fucking hurts!” she yelled, as she put out that fire. This was new, she could always just fly away from players, or hide inside a tree and they couldn’t get her, but now he was destroying her trees, and it hurt her. It sucked, she had to stop him.
As he approached another tree she twisted her hand into a fist, vines shot out of the ground and grabbed his legs, at least he couldn’t reach another tree now.
He reached down and burnt the vines, she called more. They were at a stand-off, he had his flame hands and she could keep binding him. At least, until one of them ran out of magic.
She felt something coming at her and dodged to her left. An arrow flew past. She quickly called more vines but that moment of distraction let the fire mage take another step.
There were two players, the other had armor and was shooting at her, time to ramp this up.
She shot the fire mage with her poison attack.
“Sarah, I’m poisoned.” He cried.
The other player cast a quick spell and she could feel that the poison had been lifted from her target.
She looked, the other player was already preparing to shoot at her again. She couldn’t stay at range like this and protect her trees.
As the arrow was loosed, she flew downward, right at the fire mage.
She shot her poison right at his eyes.
“Shit! she got me in the face.”
She tightened the vines as they grew higher on the fire mage's legs, making the most of the time she bought.
The other player cured the fire mage’s poison and blind statuses.
She landed on his face and scratched at his eyes
“Get her off me!”
“I can’t shoot her if she’s that close to you.”
“Use your sword then!”
The other player charged, but vines caught her legs and knocked her down.
“I’m going to beat you, fairy, then I’m going to fuck you and take your damn treasure!”
The fire mage yelled as he put his hands together and used his flamethrower attack. She dodged most of it, but he caught her in the edge of it and her leg was scorched.
“Wait, what?” the other player yelled, “I thought we were just defeating her.”
“No, we are going to capture her so I can fuck her and get the pendant drop.”
“What the hell Ned?”
“Shut up and help me if you want that staff.”
She was confused, she knew what fucking was, she’d seen plenty of it in her time in this game, but a player fucking a fairy? She couldn’t imagine that, she was barely larger than his hand, how would that even work? And what was this pendant? Her thoughts distracted her a bit too long, and she felt the sword coming at her. She ducked underneath it only to find herself face to face with a stream of fire. It didn’t take out her health, but her wings, her poor gorgeous wings wilted.
She fell to the ground, the players approached and before she could get up and try to run they were standing over her.
