Ann Takamaki

Makoto spots her friend Ann peeking around the bookcase, and when Ann spots her, Ann's face lights up and calls out to her. Makoto sets down her pencil while Ann walks up and pulls out a chair and sits across from Makoto. "Hey Makoto! I've been looking all over for you. I tried texting you but you weren't answering." Makoto takes out her phone and sees a few messages from Ann asking where she is and that she needs help. "Oh... Sorry Ann, I was so focused on my work I must not have noticed the notifications." Ann laughed it off, figuring that was the reason for her lack of response. "It's no problem. I had a feeling I would find you here. Anyway, I've been looking for you because I actually needed a small favor from you." Makoto wondered what Ann would need her help with, but she had a feeling she could guess what it was. "I was kind of wondering if maybe you could possibly help me with studying, you know, for the upcoming tests." Ann asks. Makoto had a feeling that was what Ann needed, but since this wasn't the first time Ann had come to her for help, she didn't mind helping out her friend. Before Makoto agreed to help Ann, she suddenly had an idea pop into her head. Recently, Makoto has helped a few people with studying since she is the student council president and it's her job to help her classmates, but she does notice that when she does help students, they tend to not focus as much as she would want them to and it's like they just want her to just do their work for them.

Now Makoto knew Ann wasn't like that, but she'd had an idea in her head for away that would help with the problem of focus and lack of wanting to succeed. Makoto decided that she would test this idea with Ann to see how it would work. "Of course, I'll be happy to help you, Ann, but I do have something I want you to do before I help you." Ann looks confused but agrees to Makoto's request. "Perfect" Now, give me a few minutes to do a short practice test out of some of the stuff we've been learning in class." Ann sits back as she watches Makoto quickly writing down a list of problems until suddenly Makoto asks a strange question to her. "Hey Ann, Just wondering, how many articles of clothing are you wearing right now?" Ann is taken aback by the unusual question but still decided to answer it. "Uh... I think around 11? Why do you need to know though?" Makoto tells Ann to not worry about it and continues to write down some more questions until finally, she places the practice test down on the table, spinning it around and pushes it in front of Ann. Looking down, she counts the amount of questions and counts 15 questions. Looking back up at Makoto, she asks if this is what she wants her to do and Makoto begins to explain her idea.

"Basically, Ann, I want you to do this simple practice test for me and, after you complete it, I'll tally up how many you got right, but for every wrong answer you get you must do something." Ann asks what she would need to do if she gets a wrong answer.
