Angelica breathed in deep as she stood within the temple, hearing the cheering crowds just outside the walls. She felt giddy with excitement, butterflies filling her stomach. She could barely wait to go out and meet the masses of people who had gathered just for her. The anticipation was killing her and she paced back and forth. Christina, who was in the temple with her, saw her rapid movements and went over to her, placing her arms gently on her shoulders.

“Angelica!” she said, “What’s wrong? Everyone’s waiting for you! I know it’s probably nerve wracking but you don’t have to worry!”

“It’s not that!” said Angelica, “I can’t think of what catchphrase I want to say!”

“Oh,” said Christina.

“Do you think ‘the prophecy has been fulfilled’ will be good?” she asked, “Or maybe ‘destiny always wins’ would work? On second thoughts, I’m going with that one!”

“Yes, yes,” she said, “I’m sure they’ll love it. Quickly now! They’re clamoring for you!”

“I know!” Angelica yelled enthusiastically.

The temple doors opened and Angelica's eyes glittered, a large smile taking up her face. Without so much as a second thought she ran through the doors outside, pulling herself from Christina's gentle embrace and leaving her behind in the temple. Angelica was met with the roar of a crowd that filled up the streets of the city around her. All of them waving their arms in the air and screaming her name. Her heart jumped. This was everything she wanted and more.

“Destiny always wins!” she yelled.

The crowd cheered for her and she ate it all up. She put her hands out and started making what she believed to be cool poses, completely embracing the image of the hero she knew she was. The king of the land approached her with a medal engraved with a symbol of heroism.

“Too long have our people suffered the tyranny of the dark lord!” said the king, “But we are now free thanks to one woman! Angelica the hero of prophecy! Tell me, brave one, how was it that you were able to defeat such evil?”

“Well, it wasn't easy!” said Angelica, “But I managed to seal him into the abyss with the sword of destiny! All I really had to do was believe in myself!”

The crowd cheered again as Angelica gave them a wink. Christina, who was watching and smiling from the shadows of the temple slowly lost her joy as she saw Angelica bask in the glory all on her lonesome. Christina folded her hands together and backed further into the temple, away from the celebration, a somber look on her face.

“By the power invested in me, I hereby pronounce you hero of the lands! May you be known and respected wherever you go!”

Angelica smiled and lifted her head as the medal approached her. She couldn’t be happier. She thought back to her journey from her tiny village and how many trials she had went through to get to this moment. She remembered how she felt when she first heard the prophecy, and how from that moment she could only ever imagine what it would be like to be revered as a hero. She puffed up her chest and shouted in victory. After so much time and work, she was finally getting the recognition that she deserved.

Suddenly a bright light enveloped her and everybody gasped.

Angelica woke up on a beach before a dark castle. She shrieked at the sudden change of scenery. Helga giggled again and approached her.

“What’s this?” she said, “Where am I? Where’s my medal?”

“Welcome to harem hotel dear!” said Helga, “Congratulations! You are our first contestant.”

As he eyes scanned the surroundings, they inevitably crossed over Malgor, standing there as if nothing had happened to him. Her heart dropped and she fumed, instinctively reaching for her belt.

“You!” she yelled, “You’re gone! I defeated you! How can you still be here?”

She fumbled around before realizing that her legendary sword of destiny was put in a ceremonial place for the celebration and she didn’t have it on her.

“No, my sword of destiny!” she yelled.

“Our first contestant is Angelica,” said Helga, “A human girl. Green eyes and pink hair, something that happens naturally in their world. Long ago she was told a prophecy by an old crone that she would be the one to strike down the dark lord with the fabled sword of destiny. Filled with determination and main-character syndrome, she embarked on a quest that ended with her trapping Malgor in the abyss. Unfortunately for her, that’s where the prophecy ends. No telling what happens after!”

“What is happening?” she said, “Are you up to something, you fiend?”

“I truly wish I was,” said Malgor.

“And now, for contestant number two!” said Helga.
