Even while sulking within the shadows of the temple, Christina didn’t fail to notice the light that enveloped her friend. When the light vanished, so did Angelica. Christina panicked in a similar manner to the crowd. Whatever reservations she might have had, her best friend had suddenly disappeared. She knew that she had to do something, at least for her own honor as a paladin. People screamed, pushed, and pulled. The king stood there flabbergasted, medal still in his hands.

Christina ran out of the temple to the spot where her friend was standing only moments ago. She knelt down and tried to see if any trace of her could be found. To her shock, there was absolutely nothing to indicate she had even stood there at all.

“Where is she?” she yelled, “Where is Angelica?”

“That’s what we’re trying to find out!” said the king, “Guards, spread out and search the city! Paladin, back to your post at the temple!”

“Please my lord!” said Christina, “She’s my friend! My best friend! Let me search for her too!”

“Forgive me, but I do not know you paladin,” said the king, “You best return to your temple and receive orders from your higher ups.”

The king was hurried from the place as guards started spreading out. Christina was left alone again and even more disheartened. Even after saving the world, no one knew who she was. She thought back to the village she grew up in with Angelica. Everything seemed so different then. She truly thought at one point in her life that she'd end up somewhere better than here. Reluctantly, she went back to the temple. She resolved to find the head cleric and convince him to let her aid in the search. That was the most she felt she could do.

But on her way, a thought occurred to her. She was wearing her ceremonial paladin armor. If she were to appear before the head cleric, it would be improper if she didn’t wear traditional temple garbs. She ran as quickly as she could to a discreet room where she could change in peace.

She closed the door behind her and started unbuckling her armor. In her panicked rush, she simply let each piece fall to the ground. She disrobed until she was in her undergarments: some laced panties and a corset she wore to keep her figure in battle. She wiped sweat off of her forehead, not expecting the pressure of taking off armor in a hurry to be so taxing.

She reached for some temple garments off the wall, but before she could even touch it, a bright light enveloped her too.

Christina opened her eyes to find herself on a beach. She looked around and saw Angelica standing there, looking at her with worry.

“Angelica!” said Christina, “There you are! We’ve all been worried sick! Where did you go?”

“Christina!” said Angelica, “You’re in your underwear!”

Christina suddenly looked down, remembering her state of undress. Her face turned red as she yelped and covered her body. She looked around, worried that someone else might see her in this undignified state. To her horror, she saw helga and Malgor looking right at her.

“The dark lord!” yelled Christina, “That’s impossible! We banished you!”

“A little background on contestant number two: Christina!” said Helga, “She was a childhood friend of Angelica. They grew up in the same village, but Christina left early in life to become a paladin as the church recognized her talents. She left poor Angelica behind, surpassing her in every way until Angelica surprised everyone by being the prophesied hero. Then Christina practically begged to tag along on her quest to defeat the dark lord!”

“That’s not true!” said Christina, “She invited me! And I’ve always been proud of her like she’s been proud of me!”

“Well…” said Angelica, “You did spend a long time seeking me out to ask to come with me.”

“What?” said Christina, “I had to do that! You didn’t come to me! Your best friend!”

“Let’s put a pin in that!” said Helga, “I’m sure there will be plenty of drama to come. For now, let’s move on to contestant number three!”
