Chapter 47
by TwilitDesires
Though Ahsch thought he saw a glimmer of a smile before her cup hid her lips.
Angel
Edit: missed Familiar of Flesh as a prohibited Boon for Angels.
Also, I've realized I completely forgot about the extradimensional mana storage which comes with Ecstatic Generation. Ahsch actually has a maximum accessible mana capacity of ~18,000 (EG normally does [Mana Density]x[Mana Pool], but Secondary Generation Method only gives the second method at 50% effectiveness, so it's half the 20,000 EG would normally give). I'm not changing anything because the end result will be the same, but the numbers and some of the rationalizations are off.
Joy oh joy for rough first drafts written within a handful of hours each :/
Ahsch frowned at the System Description plastered on his mind's eye.
"If you frown any harder your face will break," his wife cautioned, lightly jabbing his cheek with a pinky finger.
He gave her an annoyed look, then tossed the mental image of his Boon into Daydreamweave for her and Ariin to peruse, though his sister had committed all the System Descriptions to memory years ago with Mahat's help. "This is what we're working with," he said to his trio of girls. Or women, rather, Avery being some seven years his senior.
"You should raise a complaint," Ariin suggested from the couch she was sprawled across.
"It is rather vague," Avery agreed, frowning.
"Everything from that place was vague," Ahsch sighed. "On the one hand, it says, explicitly, that I have to dump my whole Mana Pool into the creation of the angel, which comes out with one fifth my magical 'stats.' On the other, it suggests that I could invest less Mana for a lesser angel... but that runs contrary to the pretty clear-cut and no-conditions, 'must expend all your mana' bit the sentence before. Also, it doesn't define 'lesser strength.' Assuming I could use just half my pool, is that lesser in relation to my current maximum? Or is it an absolute measure, where no matter how much of my current Mana I consume, my angels are 'lesser' than something that, say, Phashak could summon with her insane pool? If I was twice as powerful, would using my current maximum - which would then be half - generate a lesser angel, with lower chances for my boons, despite the same amount of Mana being consumed?" He grabbed his head and groaned. "Those vague, unhelpful, insane fucks," he groused.
"Think of it this way," Avery said, casually throwing a leg across his lap. "You have, what, about 2,000 Mana in your Pool? And you have three Thralls, each with an additional not-quite 2,000 Mana, so that's 8,000 Mana. Then, on top of all that, you have an income of roughly...?"
Ahsch sighed and leaned back, his eyes closing as he inspected the incoming, wasted Mana that Mahat, Ariin, and Kirasiel were providing him. "Ariin gives me my Mana Generation flat, as we're both basically even on physicality... Mahat is giving me something like... eight times that, roughly... Kirasiel... seven?"
"So..." Avery held the 'o' for a moment as she thought. "Around 320 Mana every... what was it?"
"30 seconds."
"640 a minute..."
Giggling from across the private living room drew the Lords Odestags' attention to Ariin. "It's a little over twelve minutes," she said. Her giggling spiked as the couple stared, surprised by her speed. "I only always keep track of my Master's general stats."
"Since when?" Ahsch exclaimed.
"About a month and a half ago, when I became your Thrall," she flashed a smile. "Someone has to make up for your inability to hold on to those numbers."
The Dominant Mage glared while Avery started to snicker. "Point taken," he said, ignoring his sister and turning towards his wife instead. "All told, dumping my entire Mana supply into an angle won't be deadly - though I'd point out that it's _really _only a bit over three minutes for my Mana Pool, and the extradimensional storages refill at different rates - the same ones as the income I get from each of you. So Mahat fills up quickly, about eight every minute, then Kirasiel at seven per minute, and finally you, at 1 per minute... so that's how long again?"
Ariin flushed. "2,000 minutes," she muttered.
"Almost a day and a half, and ever-growing," he confirmed. "Mahat and Kirasiel are between four and five hours. So yes, I could experiment, summon a bunch of angels with different Mana investitures - after all, 'my entire reserve of Mana' could mean my Mana Pool, or all the Mana I have access to at any given moment. If it's the former, then it's possible I can super-charge my angels by dumping all not-quite-eight-thousand Mana into them; if it's the latter, then I can only make a fully-powered angel once every day and a half."
"And it's not a spell, so Master can't false-cast it to see what might happen," Mahat murmured from the opposite side of Ahsch from Avery.
"And let's be honest," Ahsch continued, "even if they could help with the legitimacy of a cult, how much use would an almost-4 Magnitude angel be? That's less than half the 'stats' that the average human has, and I'm somehow doubtful that Dominant's Tithe just breaks the Boon like that."
Everyone was thoughtful for a moment. "Didn't you say that many of your Boons, spells, and even your Mana Generation Methods were, how did they put it, 'weird?'" Avery asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"Didn't you _also _say that some of your Boons and spells were _not _considered 'weird?' Including Cleansing Light?"
Ahsch blinked. "You're thinking that because Dominant's Tithe is one of the weird, rule-breaking options I had, but Cleansing Light isn't, then maybe the extradimensional storage isn't counted?"
Avery shrugged. "I'm just pointing out that it's possible."
Again, the group was silent.
"Alright, it can't hurt to try. Worst case scenario, I just have some really weak angels to spread the word of my cult."
With a deep breath, Ahsch moved his wife's leg aside, then stood, moving to stand in the middle of the room. Closing his eyes, he pulled on Cleansing Light, activating it and, after a moment's thought, fed it the 2,000 Mana it desired from his pool.
With a flash of light, a figure appeared. Contrary to his first expectation, the angel that he had just created was not a pale, blonde- or brown-haired person of beauty. Nor was it an eldritch wing-and-eye creature.
Certainly, some things aligned at least slightly with his expectation. The angel had long hair which reached their butt, which deviated from expectation by being somewhere between pink and purple in color. Likewise, their eyes nearly shone with that color from within their heart-shaped face. Further, the soft, sensitive skin of their lips, nipples, and pussy lips were tinged that same, lusty color. A halo hovered above her head, though it did shine with pure, colorless light. The angel's body was moderately proportioned, with gentle curves and just over a handful's amount for her tits, which were perky, seeming almost to bounce even as she stood still.
Then, she suddenly dropped to one knee, bowing her head forward. "How may I serve You, Creator?"
Everyone stared for a long moment, their minds churning through something that, while they already knew it intellectually, something within them, some instinct, was screaming that they were in the presence of an angel. It was bizarre to know it already, but somehow _know _it beyond just knowing.
"H-hello?" Ahsch stuttered.
"Yes, Creator?" the angel looked up, her face virtually expressionless, save for an oddly moderate desire to serve flashing in her glowing eyes.
"I..." the hrafthi coughed. "You're my first angel, I'm not sure..." he trailed off.
"I see. Is there something I can do to help?"
"Uh... I guess, yes, do you know roughly what your magical Magnitude is, and if you inherited any of my Boons?"
"Yes, Creator. My 'Magnitude' is just short of four; I inherited Ritual Amp and Pierce from Your applicable Boons."
"Well, that answers if Cleansing Light counts the extradimensional storage or not," Mahat said.
Ahsch nodded, but was frowning. "Applicable Boons?"
"Yes, Creator. Some of the Boons You posses are not able to be inherited by any angels You create."
"Which ones?"
"Secondary Generation Method, Object of Worship, Cleansing Light, Transformative Trinket, Familiar of Flesh, Parental Mastery, and Innately Mystical."
"So over half my boons."
"Yes, Creator."
The Dominant Mage blew out a breath. "H'okay... do you have a name?"
"You have not bestowed me with one, Creator."
"...I see..."
"Would You like to name me, Creator?"
"I uh... I'll have to think of a good name," he replied lamely. "Could you tell me more about you - about angels in general?"
"What would You like to know, Creator?"
"Well... I guess the big things are what can you do, how do you work, can you grow or be... er... 'improved,' stuff like that."
"Certainly, Creator. In order: angels You create are given one fifth of your Magical capabilities, assuming You invest the full amount of Mana into Cleansing Light; we additionally know all non-racial Innate Magics that You know. We will strive to fulfill any command You give to the best of our understanding and abilities. Much like You as an Outsider, our physical capabilities are derived from our mystical nature. We require no water, food, sleep, or air, being sustained by our Creator's investment of Mana. We cannot grow or improve ourselves as You or mortal beings can, but You can increase our capabilities when You increase your Mana Pool by providing us with the new maximum amount of Mana. For example, should You gain a maximum Mana Pool of 3,000, You could provide me with that 3,000 Mana to return me to a full one-fifth of Your power."
The angel thought for a moment. "For other general information about angels, we are wholly devoted to You, and cannot betray Your will, as we are beings born and sustained by Your Mana. Should You desire, You may reclaim Your Mana from an angel, absorbing what was spent. The experiences of any angel You absorb in such a way can be reconstituted by spending an equivalent amount of Mana, in essence reincarnating them. Angels damaged or destroyed will lose power and experience, as the Mana that sustains them is lost."
As for information more specific to You, creator, we cannot be Thralls for Dominant's Tithe, nor Worshipers for Object of Worship nor Cleansing Light; further, as beings of pure Mana, we cannot be affected by Mystic Fluids. Should an angel have magic You do not posses, You may learn it through Sexual Learning, though an angel You create would be unlikely to gain such magic. We can provide Mana through the tantric methods of Ecstatic Generation, and should You will it, we can surrogate a child for you via Parental Mastery."
Ahsch blinked several times, trying to process everything. Around the room, his girls and wife were clearly thinking as well. "Is it possible to overcharge Cleansing Light?" he asked.
There was a momentary pause, which was slightly unnerving considering the angel's otherwise instant replies. "Using the extradimensional Mana storge from Dominant's Tithe, I believe there is a high probability that You can create angels possessing a greater share of Your magical prowess, Creator. However, I would suggest caution, as such a situation is outside the standard parameters of the Boon, and attempting to do so may cause harm to You, Creator."
However, should You be capable of channeling the Mana, I believe that Your standard angel could obtain four-fifths of Your power through the normal avenues of Cleansing Light - that being improving Your creations by supplying the additional Mana missing from the relative cap."
That was... incredible news. That would make his angels into beings of roughly 16 Magnitude, rather than 4, a massive improvement, and noticeably above the human average. He glanced at his girls. "I guess it's worth a shot."
"Just be careful," Avery said, her voice pitched lower than normal. "I'd hate to lose my husband less than a week after our wedding." While she clearly was trying to play it off as a joke, the genuine concern and worry Ahsch saw through Threefold Senses was touching. And also somewhat odd.
"I trust you have some amount of healing capabilities," he said, smiling at his wife. Her cheek twitched in an almost-smile, but didn't reply.
With another deep breath, Ahsch returned his attention to the angel. Focusing again on Cleansing Light, but also on the as-yet unnamed being, he channeled the full 8,000 Mana into her, pulling everything from the various Pools he had.
Instantly, a sharp jolt of pain lanced through his head, and with a groan, he collapsed backwards. Through blurry vision, he was delighted to see that it had worked - the angel was clearly more powerful, the denser concentration of Mana lending her an even greater aura of gnosis regarding her angelic nature. At the same time, his brain felt like it was on fire.
"Master!"
"Ahsch!"
He was surprised when it wasn't Ariin or Mahat, but rather Avery who was carefully cradling his head, staring down at him with a worried expression. "Butler!" she bellowed, and the automata was swiftly present. "A healer!"
"Lord Odestag, I know healing ma-" a familiar voice started, before Avery barked at the speaker to get a move on, and Dorin appeared in Ahsch's vision. "Lord Od- er... Lord Ahsch, pardon my..."
"If you fucking dither any longer you're getting a knife in your godsdamned spleen," Avery growled.
Dorin blanched, then immediately placed his hands on Ahsch's temples and began to channel his magic, soothing Mana flowing into the hrafthi and easing the pain. As the burning pain in his grey matter subsided, the Dominant Mage realized he was soaked in sweat, his had throbbed, and the angel was still kneeling on the ground in front of him, though she was looking up.
"Creator, I believe You exceeded Your current intended Mana capacity for Cleansing Light by a factor of four. I suggest caution in the creation and improvement of any further angels."

Strange Salvation
(Re)Starting Life as a Weird Mage
The vast majority of people fall almost completely and utterly within the average. Maybe they're notably more intelligent, or stronger than the average, getting outside the standard deviation or two that most of the population lies within. So, what happens if after - or, perhaps, during - , someone found out they were actually exceptional? And, even better, got a second chance? <[(I'm not including it as a primary tag because the usual (sexual/fetishistic) connotations don't apply, but there will be 'gender-bender' in this story, that being actual transgender/transsexual characters who undergo physical transition, both MtF and FtM. The main character does not, and is male throughout the entire story. Along with that, there's some general exploration of sex and gender and sexuality - I approach that sort of thing with an eye to realism in general. If you don't like that, don't read. If you think you won't mind it and end up not, don't complain.)]>
